We usually think of muscle as something that moves us.
Science keeps giving us reasons to think bigger.

A new study published in Nature Aging explored something remarkable: researchers implanted contractile skeletal-muscle grafts into aged and obese mice — and the observed effects extended beyond the muscle itself.

That matters not because we’re about to replace training with self-contracting muscle implants. We’re not. This is early experimental research in mice, and there is a very long road between a fascinating laboratory finding and something applicable to human health.

What makes the study genuinely interesting is the bigger picture.

Skeletal muscle isn’t simply what helps us lift, walk, move — or look fit. It is metabolically active tissue, involved in biological communication across the body.

And suddenly, the conversation about maintaining muscle as we age becomes much bigger than aesthetics.

Strength. Mobility. Physical capacity. Metabolic health. The ability to keep doing things for yourself, for as long as possible.

Perhaps building muscle isn’t only about changing the body you see in the mirror.
It’s an investment in the body you intend to keep living in.

This is exactly why we’re introducing WELLNESS NEWS by Lana Wellness HUB.

There is extraordinary research happening across fitness, nutrition, recovery, longevity and human health. Some of it may change what we do in the future. Some of it confirms just how valuable the fundamentals already are.

We’ll bring you the stories worth knowing — and keep the line between fascinating, promising and proven clear.

Because good wellness should be curious about what’s next without forgetting what already works.

To the woman you thought of before you even reached the second slide… ♥️

May you always have people around you who notice the little things you do — especially the things that seem so natural to you that nobody remembers they take effort.

May someone remember your plans, your important days, your little preferences — and occasionally surprise you by saying: “I remembered.”

May there always be someone you can turn to without having to be the one with the answer. Someone who can look at you and simply say: “Leave it with me.”

May home be a place where you don’t always have to know where everything is, remember everything, organise everything or hear one more “Can you just…?” 😂
May you get to sit down, drink your coffee while it’s still hot — and let somebody else figure it out.

And above all, may all the care, attention, time and love you give so naturally find their way back to you.

May you be surrounded by people who don’t only admire how strong and capable you are, but know when to come closer and say:
“I’ve got you.” ♥️

Because being appreciated shouldn’t only happen when you achieve something.
Being celebrated shouldn’t require an occasion.
And being supported shouldn’t require you to ask first.

To every Emirati woman — may you receive as beautifully as you give.
Happy Emirati Women’s Day. ♥️

And to the woman who came to mind while you were reading this — send it to her.

When life gets busy, taking care of yourself can easily become another job. Another workout to squeeze into the calendar, another meal plan to follow, another routine you’re supposed to get right.

Good wellness shouldn’t take more from an already full life. It should give something back.

The right movement gives you more physical capacity for your day, not just a completed workout. The right approach to nutrition gives you energy and structure without making your entire life revolve around eating perfectly. And recovery isn’t another ritual to perform. It’s what allows your body to keep functioning when life asks more of you.

That’s what I mean by support.

Not doing everything perfectly. Not building your life around wellness. Building movement, nutrition and recovery around the life you actually have.

Your body shouldn’t compete with your life. It should support it.

The busiest season is coming

Life gets fuller again. Work, family, responsibilities, plans, and all the things that need your attention. And when life becomes busy, many of us automatically do the same thing: we push harder, sleep less, and put ourselves last.

But your body is not another responsibility you need to manage. It is the foundation that allows you to handle everything else.

The busiest seasons don’t require more pressure. They require more support.

Movement that gives you energy. Food that supports your day. Recovery that helps you show up for the life you are building.

Wellness is not something you add when life becomes easier. It is what helps you move through life when it becomes fuller.

Every summer I see the same thing 🤦🏻‍♀️

Someone steps on the scale and suddenly they’re four or five kilograms heavier than they were two weeks ago.

Panic follows almost instantly. Calories get cut. Cardio increases. The body becomes the enemy.

But here’s the problem 👇🏻

In most cases, the scale is telling only part of the story.
Summer in the UAE places the body under a unique combination of stress. Extreme heat, constant transitions between outdoor temperatures and aggressive air conditioning, reduced daily movement, disrupted sleep, dehydration, and fluid retention can all change how your body feels and how your weight fluctuates.

None of this automatically means you’ve gained body fat.

Yet many women respond by eating less and training harder. Sometimes that only increases the stress their body is already trying to manage.

Before trying to fix your body, understand what it’s responding to.

Knowledge almost always leads to better decisions than panic.

Real transformation doesn’t start with punishment. It starts with understanding.

Message me “SUMMER”.

Let’s figure out what your body is actually responding to.

JULY IS HERE ♋

Let’s celebrate the remarkable women who built their own Empires, and just happen to be born in July.

From Princess Diana to Arianna Huffington.
From Frida Kahlo to Selena Gomez.

Women who built influence.
Businesses.
Ideas.
Legacies.

And apparently, July 10 has a thing for women who love building things. 😉

Happy Cancer season!

I love stories that stay with me long after the credits roll.
Not because of the plot, and not because of the acting. But because they quietly reveal something uncomfortable about human nature.

Recently, I noticed that three completely different stories kept asking the same question:
Nine Perfect Strangers.
Guru.
The Shrink Next Door.

Different characters, different worlds, but the exact same pattern.
Someone is searching for healing.
Someone is searching for answers.
Someone is searching for a better version of themselves.
And somewhere along the way, they start believing that another person holds the key.
Maybe that’s why these stories feel so familiar.
Most of us have done it at some point.
We look for the perfect coach, the perfect diet, the perfect system, the perfect answer.
We hope that someone else will finally tell us what to do.
But the stories that change us rarely give us answers.
They give us better questions.
And sometimes the most important one is:
Why am I so willing to believe that someone else knows me better than I know myself?

I know exactly what wellness is.
And that’s why it’s hard to watch what it’s being turned into right now.
Every year, the industry finds a new trend, a new method, a new promise.
The packaging changes.
The promise stays the same.
Someone else has the answer.
Someone else has the system.
Someone else can finally fix what feels broken.
And people keep investing their time, money, energy and hope into that promise.

Real wellness was never meant to make you dependent on a person, a method or a trend.
It was meant to help you build a stronger relationship with yourself. 🫶🏻

Sarah. Maya. Noora.

Three different women. Three different struggles. Three different paths back to themselves.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve shared pieces of their stories. Not because there is one perfect method, but because every woman needs something different.

Sarah changed the rules.

Maya found herself again.

Noora found her balance.

Different stories. Different methods. One stronger version of themselves.

For years, women have been told that the answer is simple: 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁.

So they eat less, do more cardio, celebrate every kilogram lost and feel guilty whenever the number on the scale goes up.

But 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 and 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 are not the same thing.

Two women can weigh exactly the same and have completely different experiences in their bodies. One feels strong, energetic and capable. The other feels tired, struggles with recovery and feels frustrated that her body isn’t responding the way she wants it to.

Very often, the difference isn’t body weight.

It’s 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗲.

Muscle affects far more than appearance. It supports your 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺, 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀, 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 and 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵. It influences how you move, how you recover and how you age.

Yet many women spend years focusing only on 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀 without realizing they’re also losing muscle along the way.

The goal was never to become as small as possible.

The goal is to build a 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 that supports the life you want to live.

And ironically, when women stop obsessing over getting smaller and start focusing on getting stronger, 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 often improves too.

Maya finally felt alive again.

Some women don’t fall apart loudly.

They still show up, answer messages, smile in photos and keep functioning. From the outside, everything looks fine.

But one day Maya realized she couldn’t remember the last time she truly felt alive. Not productive. Not «fine». Alive.

For years she kept pushing through exhaustion, emotional overload and survival mode, thinking she just needed more discipline, more motivation or more control.

But the problem was never laziness.

She had simply become disconnected from herself.

So instead of forcing another new version of her life, we slowed everything down.

We created space for small moments, silence, breathing, feeling and simply being. Space to stop performing and start reconnecting with herself again.

Little by little, things began to change.

The woman who had disappeared started coming back.

Not a perfect version. Not a happier mask.

Her.

And for the first time in a long time, Maya finally felt alive again.
