Five years closer to 50, which somehow feels less frightening than it sounds. š
If Iām honest, the last while has been a bit of a life detour.
Life throws twists, turns, endings, beginnings, uncomfortable realisations and some rather profound ones too, FOR ALL OF US...
And somewhere in the middle of it all, I stepped away from social media. (Best decision yet).
Not because I had nothing to say...Quite the opposite.
I just needed to experience life without constantly feeling the need to translate it into content.
Taking that space has reminded me of something I think Iāve always known, but perhaps needed to actually live.
Biggest realisation is being alive means participating in something larger than oneself...And to participate in life is also to respond to what it needs.
Iāve realised that Iām far more interested in correction than perfection these days.
Which, as a Virgo, feels like an important distinction. š (we alllll know Virgos are overtly associated with perfectionism).
I notice what has fallen out of relationship with the larger system, and then I tend to it.
I restore, I protect and I make small adjustments that allow something to keep growing.
There is something deeply peaceful about recognising that nothing in nature is late to itself.
A tree doesn't panic because another tree has grown faster. A flower doesn't question whether it should have bloomed sooner.
Everything moves according to its own cycle.
And perhaps we are not so different?
There is peace in knowing that I am exactly where I need to be within my own.
Part of that cycle is continuation, and part of sustaining life is creating more of it.
Life remains abundant when there is enough of it to carry its form forward. And Iāve found myself thinking more and more about the body in that same way.
The physical world isn't separate from what is sacred.
Our bodies, our health, the earth, the species, the patterns, the cycles, the responsibilities of being alive...
All of it is part of how spirit gets to experience form.
To care for the body is to care for the vessel through which life gets to be here.
