Happy International Women’s Day 💜🩵

Today we celebrate the strength, courage and spirit of women everywhere, especially the incredible women who make up our TriBelles community.

TriBelles has always been about more than swim, bike and run. It’s about connection, support and showing up for one another. Each of us comes to triathlon with a different “why”. Some of us Tri for health. Some for friendship. Some for strength, healing, confidence, or simply a moment of calm in busy lives. Our reasons may differ, but the journey brings us together.

This year, International Women’s Day arrives during a time that feels heavy for many of us. With uncertainty and conflict unfolding in the Middle East, it’s natural to feel worried, overwhelmed or distracted by events happening closer to home than we would like.

Please remember: you are not alone.

TriBelles has always been a space where women lift each other up - whether it’s cheering someone through their first open water swim, supporting a teammate at the start line, or simply listening when someone needs to talk.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, reach out. Post in the group. Message a training partner. Lean on this community.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is remind each other that we’re in this together.

Sport can also be a small but powerful anchor, a swim that clears the mind, a ride with friends that brings laughter, a run that reminds us of our strength.

Today we celebrate the women who show up: beginners, veterans, comeback stories, early risers, mothers, professionals, dreamers and fighters.

Until calmer days come, we keep showing up.
We keep supporting each other.
And we keep Tri-ing together.

Happy International Women’s Day to every incredible woman in this community 💜

💔 With heavy hearts…

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our TriBelles sister and friend, Speedy (Adrienne), who passed away on the morning of 24th December in New Zealand, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Speedy lived exactly as she raced and trained; on her own terms, with grit, humour, and unwavering determination. She fought until the very end, surrounded by love, and stayed true to who she was in every moment.

She was more than an athlete.

More than a Tri Belle.

She was a force generous with her time, fierce in spirit, and endlessly supportive of those around her.

Speedy will always be part of the Tri Belles family. Her legacy will live on in our community, our friendships, and every finish line crossed with courage.

💙

Rest in peace, Speedy.

Forever a Tri Belle.

Well wishes for our mermaid belle 🧜‍♀️

One of our original Belles has been aiming to complete the oceans seven swim. 5 swims done, English Channel, Manhattan Island,North Channel, Catalina, and Gibraltar!

A few days ago she attempted the Hawaii Molokai swim before taking on the last one in Japan.

Unfortunately Joanne had a “run-in” with a cookie cutter shark so her attempt was cut short.

Joanne is doing well and recovering ok.

With her sights still firmly set on completing her challenge and ticking off the final two swims.

Please join me in wishing our original Belles Mermaid a speedy recovery and all the best of luck in her subsequent attempts

Get well soon Jo!

🔵🟢We have important news!📣

The Health Forum is delighted to announce a brand new event to our calendar. 📅

Next month we will host the 1st annual Caina Healey Children's Try-a-Tri!

Named in memory of Caina Healy, the Children’s Try-A-Tri is a new event which will raise funds for the Danny Quigley Fund.

Originally from Derry, Caina was a schoolteacher & athlete who lived in Abu Dhabi. Caina was passionate about sports and was always encouraging children and young people to improve their lives by getting more active.

Although her life was tragically cut short, the impact she had on the world continues. Inspired by the life Caina lived, we are hosting a try-a-tri to encourage more children to improve their fitness & mental health, set health goals, and support each other to live healthier lives.

Our children's try-a-tri kicks off on Friday 14th June 2024, and in the run up, we will be visiting schools to help kids train and to tell them more about Caina's life. We already have children signed up, but if you would like to have your child involved, please speak to your school and ask if they have registered for this awesome event.
