A lot of people's weight loss journeys start off with option 1

And they repeat option 1 over and over and over.

Maybe not in every single aspect but they look at it as all or nothing
Either they are giving 100% or 0%

True long term success lies somewhere in the middle.
Better than no effort but not so much effort that it's not
sustainable for more than a week or 2.

Point is - Weight loss is a long process and trying to
speed it up usually backfires

Be patient. Try to improve a bit each week.
