Emirates Hockey League Club The Al Ain Vipers were founded in 2009 and won the Emirates Hockey League (EHL) championship in the 2009-2010 season.
The Al Ain Vipers became the Dubai Vipers in 2013. In 2014, the team changed their name to the Dubai Oilers and won the EHL championship in the 2014-2015 season. The team changed back to Dubai Vipers for the 2016-2017 season.
