Fly high, Nimr (2008-2025)
In the Spring of 2008 a local breeder 'hacked' (controlled wild release) a young clutch of Red Naped Shaheens in the deserts of Dubai.
One of them got herself into trouble fighting with local raptors and needed to brought in for stitches to a puncture wound she received in her belly.
The treatment was a success but the scar tissue meant that a downy feather was always sticking out no matter how much she tried to preen it back under.
This we decided was her Leopard Spot and so her name stuck. Nimr (Arabic for leopard).
So started a more than 17 year career with the team where she proved over and over again to be the craftiest assassin we've ever worked with.
She trained countless falconers in the art of patience whilst performing epic endurance flights around the city.
She liked her pigeon snacks too and chose them at will.
RIP Nimr.
They broke the mold...
