🏆 The Winners of the AGMC Geely Commodore’s Cup 🏆

After a hard fought season with many close battles, the winners for the AGMC Geely Commodore’s Cup have been crowned! 188 unique boats competed throughout the year, all challenging for the podium spots at our End of Season Awards this Friday. The competition was incredibly close, with some categories only being won by a single point.

Well done to all the sailors, and a huge congratulations to all the winners!

It's the last week of May, but of course there is still lots to do at DOSC!

Thursday is the day for our Inaugural DF95 UAE Race (with some great prizes from 95 Upcycle), Saturday has the first of our summer series, followed by our last beach party, SanDOSC!

In the clubhouse, the air conditioned tent is up now, sushi is on the menu this Wednesday (we know how much you love it), and Joe is coming back in June to host another high energy quiz!

Saturday saw the AGMC Geely Cup, and the Tentola Farewell Party!

Safe to say, it was a big day: over 70 boats on the water, from Optimists to keelboats! We love seeing so many people out racing ⛵ Huge thank you to AGMC Geely for sponsoring, we really appreciate your support .uae .uae

The day closed with prizegiving in Tentola, followed by the Tentola Farewell Party, soundtracked by & . Amazing turnout, and we hope you all had a fantastic evening 🎵

This Friday is the End of Season Awards night - still time to book your table if you haven’t already - and Saturday 30 May will be our last beach party, SanDOSC, after the Mates Must Race!

Today, we ran the annual Bin Dhahi Memorial Pursuit Race. Ten boats found youth helms, rigged up, and headed onto the course to race in great sailing conditions!

And that’s Battle of the Squads!

What an amazing night, with awesome costumes, great routines, and a huge fun all round! 5 Squads battled it out, with RS Feva Squad performing ‘Under the Sea’, our ILCA Squad took on ‘Pirates of the Carribean’, the Opi Senior & Development Squad acting out their version of Madagascar, RS Tera & Opi Cadet Squad becoming Minions, and a rather questionable interation of Shrek 2 by the Instructor team.

The judges scored each performance on a variety of criteria, and the competition was tight; in the end, the RS Tera & Opi Cadet Squad won over judges and became our first Battle of the Squads champions!

Thank you to all the participants, parents, audience, staff, judges, prize sponsor , and staff, for making it a great event!

Last weekend was certainly a weekend of two halves: light airs on Saturday, and beautiful sailing conditions on Sunday!

Over the 2 days, 77 boats (and kitefoilers) hit the water to compete in our Dinghy End of Season Regatta, sponsored by Freshly Foods. We were delighted to be joined by some sailors from other UAE clubs, which gave our competitors an extra challenge!
