Bamyan Alpine Ski Club together with Afghan Peaks is currently running a small handcraft program for our women skiers in Bamyan.
While they are still unable to ski, we want them to remain part of our winter community. They are knitting gloves and socks from local sheep wool work that not only supports them with income, but also has the potential to benefit the local economy as it grows.
Just as important, this program gives them time to come together, connect, and support one another.
For now, it’s a small group of five women but we hope to expand in the future.
Thanks to The Afghan Peaks Charitable Trust for the opportunity.

A little fresh snow has fallen on Baba Mountain, and our team is back on the slopes
Training continues as we prepare for the 5th Annual Afghan Peaks Ski Race, coming up on March 27, 2026. Every run down the mountain brings us closer to the race — stronger, faster, and more united as a team.
Even on the eve of Ramadan, the passion for skiing and the love of the mountains keep us moving forward. The snow, the silence of the peaks, and the spirit of the team remind us why we do this.
ski Training in Jawkar village . we hope that the snow still remains untill race day on the 27.03.2026 .
unfortunately not much snow this season on the Baba mountains . our team had to start the wooden ski training during Month of Ramadan before all the snow melts around the villages. we are hoping that, until the race day on 27.03.2026 there would be some snow left on upper mountains .
