Little update on the Pulszilla - We are
going to have the current cage removed and a new national level cage fabricated ensuring the car is eligible for a variety of races and events.
We are expecting the work to be completed by
end of October.

One race car sold to make room!!
The Mazda is off to a new home, it just needs to make it's way over Bass Straight. The new owner is going to love this awesome car coupled with their own engine package.
I will look after her for the time being🤘

It was good to pop into the Extreme Auto Expo today and support Ryan and the ULX110 team. Lots of nice cars and cool to see the interest in the R34 Sports Sedan, especially from the young kids. While my RX7 is getting some upgrades Ryans R34 has seen some major work completed and is looking👌

Back in the early 2000s you couldn't attend a car show without seeing Scotts wild imported ex rally now road going Pulsar. Scott was also a regular at the 4,6 & Rotary nationals.

I first met the car and Scott in 2002 after noticing it from my HOT4s Magazine. After such time we struck up a friendship and have to this day.

I had the chance to aquire the car in 2021 and immediately went about a secretive process of brining this car into the modern era whilst keeping it's rad 90s vibes. The ultimate goal was seeing Scott back behind the wheel of the car and having a blast.

So first things first,

Initially we completed

New steering rack
New disk brakes all round
Repaired Gearbox
New ball joints

We then focused on fuel system.

We found the fuel tank to be in a bad way, we replaced it with a new fuel cell
Raceworks surge tank
Replaced the aged braided fuel line with hard lines to incorporate moving to Ethanol.

Under the hood there were a few major things.

Installed a brand new Garret T28 Turbo
New coil pack and ignition system
New Blow off valve
Cleaned up wiring
New turbo dump pipe
New injectors

Then came the next challenge (the wiring and ECU)

Brand New wiring loom
New Link Fury ECU
Link digitial dash
Additional oil temp sensors
Replaced Emergency Kill switch
Push Button ignition

Next on the list will be the big one.....
Billet block CA18DET with all the juicy bits. Equipped for 300+kw at the front wheels!

Hopefully GM Motorsport can start entering some of the events at Collingrove & Willunga in 2023

Getting the RX7 ready for the 2023 season involves a few Major projects and others that can be looked upon later, that being said the list evolves weekly.

Dan removed the gearbox and clutch last week. The plan will be to replace the clutch with a brand new twin plate direct clutch and also install a trans cooler. Ensuring the gear oil is kept within its operating temp parameters is key to increasing gearbox life expectancy and with the price tag these sequential boxes carry a trans cooler is a great investment.

Some photos of a very familiar car! Norm Stokes pictured here piloting his RX7 (now mine) around Oran Park back in the mid 90s.

Since then there has been some changes to the car, thankfully paint being one of those. Body work has altered slightly as well as some changes to driving positioning and engine positioning.

I remember watching the Sports Sedans at Mallala back in the 90s it's a mystery whether the car completed a race there but it would be very cool to think I had watched it race as a kid.
