๐ฃ Podcast Update ๐ฃ
Hey everyone,
After a lot of thought and reflection, Iโve made the decision to pause all of our podcast productions effective immediately.
This hasnโt been an easy call โ the journey has been incredible, and Iโm so grateful for everyone whoโs listened, shared, and supported the shows along the way. From the guests who gave their time to the loyal listeners who tuned in week after week โ thank you. ๐
Each episode has been a passion project built on a love of sport, community, and great conversation. While this chapter is coming to a close (for now), Iโm incredibly proud of what weโve created and the stories weโve shared.
Who knows โ this might just be a โsee you laterโ rather than a goodbye. ๐
Thanks again for being part of the journey.
โ Pete

๐ Holdfast Bay Bowling Club โ Season 25/26 Preview ๐
Club Champion and the Oyster King of South Australia Damon Edmonds was kind enough to spare a little bit of time to provide a pre-season update on what's happening at Holdfast in 2025/25.
The 24/25 season was always going to be tough for Holdfast Bay, with several players moving on โ some chasing new opportunities, some returning to their hometown clubs, and even a few following romance. This meant elevating six bowlers from our Division 4 side into Premier competition.
While results didnโt fall our way and we fell just short of avoiding relegation, the season gave valuable opportunities for our Premier players to step up, for Division 4 bowlers to taste top-level competition, and for Holdfast to showcase its trademark hospitality to visiting friends from interstate.
๐ Squad news:
Many of last yearโs remaining Premier-level players have since moved on
Our Division 4 core group will now carry the responsibility in a strong division
๐ช Season outlook:
Itโs another big challenge this year, but one the group is determined to meet head-on. With grit, resilience, and a never-give-up approach, the squad has committed to fighting hard to stay out of the bottom two and to continue representing Holdfast Bay with pride. Expect tactical nous, plenty of fight, and that classic Holdfast spirit.
๐ฎ Predictions:
Premier League: Adelaide to go back-to-back, with Somerton edging out Ascot Park. Grange and Port Noarlunga to round out the top four.
Division 1: Millswood to lead the way, with Henley and Edwardstown strong contenders, and Somerton to complete the four.
The 25/26 season promises to be one of challenge, opportunity, and fight โ and Holdfast Bay is ready to take it on. ๐๐ค

๐ Edwardstown Bowling Club โ Season 25/26 Preview ๐
After a successful Master Builders victory in Perth, Club man TJ saunders provided us with the perfect insight into how Edwardstown will be aiming for higher honours this season
After a satisfying 24/25 season, where we built on our promotion and escaped the cauldron of Division 3 South, Edwardstown proved we could compete strongly at Division 2 level. That tough journey made us harder, tighter as a group, and ready for the challenges ahead.
๐ List changes for 25/26:
Outs: Steve Holman (travelling overseas)
Ins: Tony Northcott, Michael Collins, Ray Bryant, Jessie Bryant, Li Deed
Resting list: John Nicolai, Gary Clayton
With new recruits adding depth and experience, and our playing group consolidating well, weโre confident of keeping momentum at the front end of the season.
๐ Predictions:
Premier 1: Adelaide looks a real challenge after strong recruiting, while Pt Noarlunga could be a surprise packet. The Sunday Mail on October 12 will confirm all the rumours.
Division 1: Shaping up as a wide-open battle between some very strong sides โ too tough to call just yet.

After a bit of an off season breather we finally caught up with club favourite Lochie Bowman about whats been happening at the Hawks in the last few months ....
Hawthorn comes into the new season after a strong 24/25 campaign, highlighted by a narrow 6-shot semi-final loss in Premier League and the Wednesday team finishing runners-up in the Grand Final.
๐ Squad news:

๐ช Season outlook:
With Division 1 promoted last season, opportunities are wide open for emerging players to step into bigger roles. While the challenge is significant after the loss of key players, the squad is determined to remain competitive and continue to build on the tight camaraderie that defines Hawthorn Bowls.
The 25/26 season will be about development, resilience, and team spirit as Hawthorn looks to keep pushing forward.

๐ช๏ธ Marion Bowling Club โ Season 25/26 Preview ๐ช๏ธ
We Caught up with Club Captain Ashlee Klose about the season ahead
The Canes are coming off a stellar 24/25 season, claiming both the Division 1 Premiership and the Midweek Premier League title โ an achievement the club is immensely proud of. Last year we set out to win the flag, not just gain promotion, and to deliver on that goal was incredibly satisfying.
๐ฅ Squad news:
No major outs from last season
In: State Squad member Josh Porker, adding strength and experience to the back end
๐ช Season outlook:
The goal hasnโt changed โ we want another flag. While many will view us as underdogs, weโll embrace that tag and do everything possible to compete at the top. Thereโs no shortage of strong opposition though, with Adelaide, Ascot Park, and Somerton expected to be among the toughest challengers.
๐ฎ Predictions:
Premier League: Adelaide will be hard to beat, with Ascot and Somerton also right in the mix.
Division 1: Millswood looks like the early favourites, a talented group that plenty of people admire and support.
With confidence, hunger, and the addition of top-level talent, Marion is ready to storm into 25/26 with intent. ๐ช๏ธ๐๐
