Muckish is settling in to our new home in Perth and if there's one thing summer in Noongar country inspires it's making hats! This incredible fabric holds its shape and I'm really excited to see how the hat goes with being scrunched up and then straightened out. And it's only 50 g! Muckish is so proud to support the Dorothy Hill Women in Earth and Environmental Science Symposium, happening right now in Brisbane.Â
This event could hardly be closer to our heart. Muckish grew out of our founder Kate's need to design and make her own gear to get out in the field. We really hope that by making field gear that works we can help to overcome at least one small challenge for women in geoscience! Muckish so firmly believes in the principles of the Dorothy Hill Symposium: removing barriers, building connections and supporting people so they can get out there and get the job done. We hope the symposium is a great success.

Working on the Greenland Ice Sheet last month in temperatures below -35C, our founder Dr Kate Selway was kept warm and safe by her Muckish polar suit. Our signature polar suit is designed exactly for these conditions: the primaloft insulation traps body heat, the ripstop nylon shell blocks wind and stands up to wear and tear, and the whole thing weighs less than 1.5 kg.

We're back! We've been off grid for a few months, first on an epic field trip on the Greenland Ice Sheet and then visiting our namesake mountain Muckish (and some family!) in Ireland!

Introducing our 100% merino climate stripe neck gaiter! Made of a double layer of Australian merino wool, the gaiter combines exceptional warmth, softness and stretch. It is printed with the iconic global warming temperature stripes, which show the global temperature trend from 1850 to 2020. Wear it as a neck gaiter, a headband or a beanie and start a conversation.

We've just finished some design updates to our polar suit. This is an insulated, all in one shell layer for extreme cold conditions. After our last tests on the Greenland Ice Sheet, we've added an extra layer of gold insulation to the torso and changed the shell layer to a thicker, 70 denier ripstop nylon for added abrasion resistance. It still clocks in at just under 1 kg. And we added more pockets. You can never have too many pockets đ.
