Conferences aren’t actually the way I learn the best.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Recently I spent a weekend in Sydney attending the Pilates Journal Expo.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Two big days immersed in all things Pilates, hearing from some of the best in the industry.
But if I’m honest, back to back workshops, snapping photo’s, taking notes, trying to capture every detail becomes information overload = low retention.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What made the weekend truly valuable wasn’t trying to remember everything, it was the connection with others;
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨Meeting people in person.✨Sharing stories.✨Hearing how others run their businesses.✨Talking about the wins and the challenges we all face in this work.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And the real deeper learning was here;
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌱In paying attention to what stayed with me.🌱The new connections and friendships.🌱What unsettled me.🌱What sharpened my thinking.🌱What quietly confirmed the way I want to teach.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Often the biggest growth comes not from adding more, but from becoming clearer about what matters and that’s also how I like to teach 😊
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not overwhelming people with information or chasing the next shiny exercise, but creating the conditions where real change happens through space for understanding, reflection, and progress over time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes the greatest learning simply makes you clearer about what matters 🙏💕

🌱 Are you waiting for the “right time”?
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We all have a ‘Someday List’.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The things we know would make a difference to our physical and mental wellbeing, but we keep putting them off until life slows down… until we feel ready.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The truth I keep learning (and re-learning) is this:
✨ There’s no perfect time.
✨ There’s only this one.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And sometimes, ONE small step is all it takes to quietly shift everything 💫
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You don’t need to have it all figured out, just the curiosity and willingness to begin🙏⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I recently spent 2 weeks in Paris, the first week on a Pilates Retreat superbly organised and hosted by the amazing Angela and Cyriaque from and the second week on my own exploring the endless picturesque streets of Paris.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I first started planning my trip to France I wanted to visit all of the nearby countries. Then I thought, rather than race around trying to squeeze in multiple activities a day (I can do that at home) what if I spent all my time in one place and did everything I usually wish I had time for on holidays but never do.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In my second week, while I took a few day trips from Paris, I had the luxury of spending every morning at my favourite café, savouring the best croissants I’ve ever tasted and watching Parisians go about their day. In the afternoons, I wandered through the labyrinth of picturesque streets, discovering charming bespoke shops by local artists and French brands with a glass of Champagne or two along the way… I mean when in Paris.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Paris is definitely a city you need to explore by walking around and using the metro, which is easy to use once you get your bearings.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Paris you lived up to all my expectations and more…I will be back! 💙🤍❤️

6. Versailles - on a bike is the only way to explore the surrounding gardens and parklands of the palace
7. Galeries Lafayette - a luxury department store shopping experience a must visit
8. Musèe d’Orsay - avoid the crowds at The Louvre and come here instead

Cheers to a Happy & Healthy New Year, everyone!!
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To my amazing clients, thank you for your ongoing trust, dedication, and for being open to trying new things even when it may have felt a little unconventional 🤣 - but always with great results (and plenty of laughs along the way 😍).
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Wishing you all a fabulous and fulfilling 2025, filled with doing more of the things you truly love and just the right amount of well-deserved indulgences along the way 🍾🥐🍫
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
May you keep making those small changes because they tend to hang around and have the biggest impact and do more of what feels right for YOU and not what the world tells you to do 🙏
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Excited for all the new opportunities 2025 brings for everyone 🤩

POV: Growing up in the 80s, and 90s
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At school, we were told to pick one thing: What are you good at?Was it Maths, English, Sport, or Science? The advice was simple, study what you excel at and choose a career that aligns with those skills.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And so, we followed the plan. We became accountants, doctors, executive assistants, dancers, electricians, hairdressers, engineers, project managers and the list goes on. Over the years, we found success and perhaps were rewarded with monetary bonuses, promotions, industry awards, and recognition from peers and customers. It felt right, so we kept going in these careers ie what gets rewarding gets reinforced and recognised.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But here’s the catch: just because you’re good at something doesn’t mean you enjoy it 🤔
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If we keep doing what we’re good at but don’t truly enjoy, guess what eventually happens? We become disengaged and eventually burnout. 😔
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now, here’s the shift: discover what you’re good at and what truly energises you, and do more of that 😍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes, what we enjoy has been buried under years of routine and obligation. It’s time to re-discover not just your talents but the things that bring you joy. Find them, embrace them, and let them guide your path forward.🌟
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How do you do this? Start with the two mindful actions on the slides above.

Classes start again from Wednesday 16th October through to 18th December 2024 just in time for the Christmas craziness 😆
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌟 Who is this class for?  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These Pilates classes have a focus on women’s health for midlife and beyond. Many of my clients, who are mostly 45+, were wanting to get back into Pilates or try it for the first time but were feeling overwhelmed or anxious about getting started. They were also wanting something which was accessible, affordable and attentive to their specific needs.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌟 What can you expect? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Welcoming community of like-minded women all navigating through their own journey
- Small group classes capped at 6 people
- No loud music or mirrors - although I am a bit of a 70’s & 80’s fan 🤣
- ‘No’ expectations ie You can come as often as you like and pay as you go, no ‘hard to get out of’ memberships
- Come as you are, wear what makes you feel comfortable, and you don’t need any previous Pilates experience
- *Modified Pilates exercises to accommodate all levels, injuries and pathologies. So yes, you can still come to a class if you have a current or old injury.
- We meet on Wednesday’s (in person) 5.30pm to 6.30pm, Level 1, 123 Unley Road, UNELY (located up stairs in the Korpermotus Pilates Studio).

I grew up in a small country town, as soon as I turned 17, I left school, ran away and join the Royal Australian Airforce. I couldn’t wait to get out and explore the world.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In my late 20’s and 30’s I worked across many different industries in corporate organisations. During this time, I worked long hours, completed a master’s degree, whilst having 2 beautiful girls, was a finalist in the Telstra Women’s Business Awards and climbed my way to executive positions.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In my mid 40’s, after more than 25 years working in the corporate world, I launched my own coaching and consulting business.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today at 53, I am an internationally accredited Executive Coach who now specialises in working with people who have had successful careers but for various reasons ‘fall out of love’ with the work they do and are looking for a new direction.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I am also a comprehensive Pilates teacher who believes knowledge and movement is one of the most empowering things we can do for ourselves as we age and see Pilates as a lifestyle.  I have a particular interest in how Pilates can prevent and ease menopausal symptoms such as unexplained joint pain, muscle loss, cognitive fatigue, low self-esteem, neurological, pelvic and bone health issues.  I teach privately from my home Pilates studio and small group mat classes.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Working across both disciplines of Coaching and Pilates means I have an integrated approach which truly considers the whole person, both mentally and physically, everything is connected. There is a saying, ‘What the mind can’t deal with the body will’, meaning the stress and overwhelm we feel in our head may also be held elsewhere in our body. There hasn’t been a single person I have coached over the years who didn’t also have a stiff or painful back, neck, knee or shoulder.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Where do you hold tension and or stress and how does it prevent you from enjoying the work and lifestyle you want?
