A huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers from across our sporting clubs who came together to deliver a free Australia Day BBQ breakfast for our community! From the sports activity stations to the fantastic setup, it was a brilliant morning that truly captured what Happy Valley Sports Park is all about — connection, inclusivity and community spirit.

We love creating opportunities to bring people together to commemorate the unique blend of cultures and diversity that makes this country so special and one we’re all proud to call home ❤️

A big thank you to the City of Onkaparinga for funding this free community event, and local councillors and MPs for once again rolling up their sleeves and volunteering alongside us.

And of course, thanks to Hay There Coffee for keeping everyone fuelled with amazing coffee and delicious treats ☕🥐

Days like this remind us just how lucky we are to be part of such a supportive and vibrant community.

Providing funding support to active recreation and sport clubs to further develop the programs and services they provide within the South Australian community. Grants of either $1,500 or $3,000 will be available for each applicant based on the membership of the club.

VACANCY – Treasurer

Becoming a treasurer is a great way to meet everybody in the club. But is also a great way to improve your own planning, communication and financial management skills.

Some of the best club treasurers had no idea about the role before they started. Every club looks up to a Treasurer who can provide accurate and timely financial information and here’s why:

🔸You are admired by your members
🔸Creates long-lasting friendships
🔸Build key leadership skills
🔸Great sense of Self-satisfaction
🔸An opportunity to give back to your club and community
🔸An opportunity to create a difference in your club
🔸It is a great opportunity and perfect position to place on your resume when applying for leadership and management position

☝🏻One thing to remember is that you don’t need to work out how to be your club’s treasurer by yourself. There are lots of people who can help, support and show you what to do, including past treasurers or experienced club administrators, or even friends doing a similar role at another club!

SPREAD THE LOAD – Assistant Treasurer

You can also recruit people to help you spread the workload, good Treasurers will always have at least one assistant treasurer.

Having assistants will help spread your workload but also creates a little team of people working together, bouncing ideas off each other and generally enjoying the experience together. When you become club Treasurer, you will be supported and surrounded by the club around you.

So yes, being a club treasurer can be a bit of work, but it is an extremely rewarding position.
