The Adelaide Sailing Club extends our deepest sympathies to the Tillett family. We mourn with them. David and Catherine are long standing members, supporters and importantly, friends to us all.
Australian Sailing is mourning the sudden passing of Catherine Tillett after a medical episode. Catherine was a deeply loved member of the global sailing family and someone whose warmth, kindness and quiet presence touched so many people around the world.
For decades, Catherine was a familiar and much-loved face throughout the international sailing community, standing beside her husband David through every chapter of an extraordinary life in sailing. From World Sailing conferences to America’s Cup campaigns and countless moments in between, she made friends everywhere she went and leaves behind memories that will stay with so many of us.
Today, we hold David and the Tillett family close in our thoughts and send them our love and support. The sailing community is grieving alongside them, Catherine will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
