Dove tail joints are an easy way to join flat parts that are too large to fit on the printer bed. They can also be a temporary connection method or a permanent solution. I use dove tails in two different scenarios.

1. Without Glue - I create a tight tolerance to provide an interference fit. This depends on the type of printer and settings used, but on a Bambu A1, if the dove tail is about 0.1mm smaller, it should fit nice and snug.

2. With Glue - The tolerance isn't as critical when gluing the dove tail joint. I generally make the dove tail 0.3-0.4mm smaller and use CA glue (superglue) for a strong bond.

Tip: When using super glue, dust some baking powder over the glue—this reacts with the super glue, making it cure almost instantly. 🤫
