I have been getting alot of questions asking why I am not doing my “normal” powerlifting training 👇🏼

I simply needed to listen to my body. Plus told me this is what was happening 🫠

Here are some signs that indicated that I need to take a step away from the bar for a couple of blocks:

1️⃣ Fatigue
I was feeling constantly tired or drained.
2️⃣ Soreness
Feeling sore after a workout is normal, but I was experiencing prolonged or intense soreness.
3️⃣ Decreased Performance
I was not able to perform the training at my usual level or find myself struggling with it.
4️⃣ Lack of Motivation
I was lacking motivation or dreading my workout, it became a chore for me.
5️⃣ Injury
I have been fighting lower back pain and discomfort during and after a workout.

Rest days/blocks are not a setback, but an essential part of any fitness routine. Resting will make you stronger. Listen to your body 🫶🏼

I am a personal trainer located in the northern suburbs. I have experience within a commercial gym, training clients and running group fitness classes.

A little about me ✨ I am a mum of 3 energetic children, who enjoy their athletics. I have been on my own fitness journey and have lost over 35kg, through life style changes. I compete in powerlifting competitions and hold a few national and state records.

I love being able to offer a variety of services so we can find what works best for you, your life and budget.

when I say "trust the process" you TRUST THE DAMN PROCESS! it doesn't happen overnight, it doesn't happen without hard work & consistency but if you commit yourself you will achieve your goals. still working on my goals & have so much more growth but I'm proud I never gave up! 🫶🏼✨

For something so normal, my legs have drained me of so much confidence. So much so, I avoided wearing shorts for a long time. When I started competing and found out I MUST wear shorts I was sh****ng it! 😳

I have always thought I've put so much time into training hard, eating well, prioritising water etc. I genuinely believed I "shouldn't" have legs like this. But Lipoedema doesn’t discriminate.

Lipoedema is a painful build-up of diseased fat cells most commonly located in the legs or arms but can also affect other areas of the body. Unfortunately as lipoedema consists of diseased fat cells, they cannot be "dieted or exercised" away.

So today I'm sharing this to be real, and hopefully encourage you to share your "flaws" too! ❤️

I'm still by no means completely comfortable with my lipoedema, but I've reframed how I think about it and now I try my best to focus on how lucky I am. My legs are my powerhouse!!

I'm a strong girl that can move some serious
weight, and I'm so fortunate to have the ability to do that. 💪🏻

My legs have won me records in powerlifting, they’ve given me the chance to see my children achieve amazing things plus make beautiful memories with my family and I'm so privileged to have full use of them. 🥰

My skin has texture, but so what? It's a part of me, and I'm going to start sharing it and being proud of ALL of who I am. 🔥

Whatever your body and your legs look like YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL and you are so unique! 🫶🏼

Let’s be real for a moment 💛

You're allowed to have off days. You're allowed to feel completely drained from all that is going on in your life and has been for awhile. You're allowed to take a break from responsibilities to take care of yourself. You're allowed to express your feelings how you need to.

You should not feel guilty for not feeling like or acting like yourself. It is in these times you discover yourself, your strength, you discover meaning and resiliency and all you need to live a good life.

You will look back on these times and be proud of the person you fought. You will be proud of you.

Every rep, every set, every breakdown, every session and every moment of self-doubt was worth it to get here; to show myself that this is my sport, and that I deserve to be here.

So proud of this little space 🥹

This year I took a very big risk… quit my full time childcare job and moved into the fitness industry, with no idea what to expect. I cannot believe where I am today, so glad I went with my heart ❤️

Now I get to offer a safe space for clients of all abilities so they can reach their goals as well 😍
