Hello once more to our good friends at Electranet, the designers and keepers of the big transmission lines that cross-cross the State. I also had one of our APY lands teachers along too. I very much enjoyed all your company these last two days and thanks for your engagement and having a go on all the challenges. Here’s some pics of what we got up to.

Regular readers of this page will know of our long association with the fine folk at Isuzu Ute Australia, now over ten years. We've been priveleged to be part of the Isuzu family in that time and since its inception, leading the delivery of the 4WD training component of I-Venture Club, Isuzu's famed customer retention and training arm. I had the great honour in delivering a series of training tips films for IVC and released through 2025. Here's the first one. if you own a D-MAX or MU-X you might find it useful.

Day two of the practicals, literally done and dusted! So much dust today and not a lot of wind to blow it away… means it got into every crevice 😂 but it didn’t deter from a great day of learning for the crew. A cast of four LC300, one LC200 and a LC79 wagon, polar ends in the tech stakes. Lots of certificate writing to do over the weekend because everyone passed with flying colours! Here’s some pictorial goodness from today and a cheerio from us to all of you for a safe journey north and west!

First job off the ranks annually, has been for the last 25 years, Aboriginal Education, under the Aboriginal Lands Partnership with the Education Department. It’s one of those really rewarding training sessions, where you see either new teachers commencing their careers, or returning teachers who might be wanting a challenge mid-career or nearing retirement. The energy levels are always up there, wanting to make a difference to the young lives living in remote locations in the APY Lands. Here are some pics from day one and thanks to all of you for making it such a fun day!

This retirement thing 🤣had us take a little six-week vacation through August and September in one of our favourite parts of the world... Italy. After thirty-three years at the coalface, a little distraction from the 4WD world is welcome. Here are a few pics from our journey, this time in and around Verona, the Naples Bay and the Puglia region. And our wheels in Puglia for two weeks, were one of my favourite brands, FIAT, and the mighty hybrid Pandina! One thousand ccs of automotive entertainment!

You'd be thinking Electranet must be on a massive recruitment drive in 2025 and you'd be right and we're happy to show them the skills. Here we are on a sunny Tuesday in October plying our craft to the assembled Prado and Hilux throng at Adventure 4WD HQ.

There is one place on earth that draws me back all the time and that is The Coorong. We're lucky enough to have a shack at Middleton, right on the coast and walking distance to Goolwa Beach. That gets us regular contact with one of God's best bits of natural wonder. Whenever I get a request to train down there I'm all over it. Its where I first learnt the art of sand driving, fifty-odd years ago. This time it was on a unique program engaging indigenous rangers to survey birdlife along the Coorong beaches. Dragged out our mighty Rhino once more... love that bus! As for the rented Kubotas... meh.
