The Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal has a tradition of drivers claiming their maiden Formula 1 wins at the circuit. In the Adelaide Grand Prix era, it was Thierry Boutsen and Jean Alesi.
Boutsen scored his first win in the wet in 1989. He ended that season with another wet-weather win at the Adelaide Grand Prix.
Alesi scored his one and only win there in 1995, on his birthday driving the #27 Ferrari made famous by Gilles Villeneuve at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. It was also the last win for a V12 engine in Formula 1.
