I've travelled to many parts of the world & I found my eyes always land on the kites being flown. This unusually seemed to be a common thread. After a huge Festival weekend, things are a little more relaxed today. The AKFA crew love what they do, and these club fly days are just as much about connecting with the community and sharing their love of kites as they are about getting them in the air.

The sun sets on the final day of the Adelaide International Kite Festival lone kites grace the sky.

Day 2 not quite the end to Easter Sunday any of us were wanting with rain but a positive outlook for tomorrows final day of the festival forecast is 25c sunshine wind and kites will be filling the sky.

Day 2 of the Adelaide International Kite Festival at Semaphore the forecast is showing good wind for the kite fliers to put on a fabulous show. Most common question from day 1 of the kite festival:
What is your favourite kite that flys the best?
Me: I’ve personally tested every kite with my children & guarantee they all fly. But I love the Parrot & Eagle the best as the wings flutter and have a lovely presence in the sky.
There is a $5 discount if purchased at the festival this weekend only on these two feathered friends.

I cherish old fashion fun and want every child to enjoy the traditional art of kite flying and connect with nature. 🌿As an adult I appreciate the value of mindfulness and the value of time out in nature disconnecting even if just for a small moment. Today’s the start of the Adelaide International Kite Festival twilight market open from 5pm.
Kites will commence flying Saturday from 11am, Sunday from 11am & Monday from 11am (weather permitting naturally)
