Huskies Ice Hockey - Adelaide Summer League

GRAND FINAL SERIES THIS WEEKEND!
Both our Div1 and Div2 teams are in the grand finals series starting tomorrow!
Div1 will face off against Titans then Div2 will take on Unicorns. Come down to the rink to support our players as they battle for the Championship Cup!

We are back on the ice very late tomorrow night. Come down and support our Huskies as we battle against the very well structured Titans!

Results and Hardest Workers
Round 11 Vs Arctics
Another couple of hard fought games this weekend! Our teams are looking stronger every week with players working hard on and off the ice. Results flipped this week with an unfortunate loss in Div1 and an overtime win in Div2 after a brief lapse in concentration.
Div1 Nathaniel Baird for taking chances and shooting some impressive shots on target. Always giving it his all quietly achieving and improving.
Div2 Jason Graetz for absolute effort and applying coaches feedback. Always having a positive attitude on the bench and finding time to keep everyone smiling.

Round 10 Vs Unicorns
Two strong games with a blow out win in Div1 and a hard fought loss in Div2. Hardest workers are getting more challenge to select with everyone playing so well.
Div1 Corey Short for working super hard and playing his absolute best game! Corey has continued to improve this season and has been given an opportunity to step up into the Div1 team.
Div2 Morris (Shu) Wang for working hard every single week. This game in particular he applied feedback and coaching advice on the spot and whipped a beautiful penalty shot.

HARDEST WORKERS ROUND9 VS STINGRAYS!
DIV1
Ian McBride for his strong hold on the blue and impressive back check. Ian is a reliable defender with great forward pressure also.
DIV2
Emily Baird for her attack on the puck and tireless efforts. Emily skated hard with a puck first mentality and held some great battles against the boards.

Huskies had a couple of nice wins on the weekend against Stingrays.
Div 1 fought hard in a strong battle of skill. We left everything on the ice, literally blood and sweat... no tears for us this time.
Div 2 also fought hard with a couple of div3 players stepping up to fill the team. We maintained a strong game which continued to build throughout.

This weekend we take on the Stingrays for the last round before the holiday break.

RESULTS AND HARDEST WORKERS ROUND 8 VS SNIPERS
DIV1
Matt Steele for stepping up to fill in and absolutely smashing the game. He didn't stop until the final siren and played hard the entire time.
DIV2
Lu Cash for her strength and growth over the past few games. She played with great confidence and structure throughout the game.

HARDEST WORKERS ROUND 7 VS TITANS
DIV1
Carl Lundborg for his tireless efforts and level headed attitude to the game. He maintained strong pressure on the puck and won lots of battles to keep possession of the puck.
DIV2
Mark Beckett for crashing the net and getting into good positions up front. He's always at the ready and keen to keep everyone involved in the game.

ROUND 7 RESULTS VS TITANS
DIV1
We started off on the back foot bur clawed our way back into the game. We never gave up and brought it down to the wire but unfortunately couldn't level for overtime and went down by one goal.

DIV2
A similar start in this game left us pushing our way back into the game. Hard work and lots of shots on net got us through with a win on the board!

Some of our talented Huskies headed over to Melbourne last weekend for the CCM National Women's Tournament. Our team supplied multiple players including a goalie, alongside two coaches and an equipment manager. Our girls won bronze and had a wonderful time stepping up to play against interstate teams! 😀🐺🏒🥅🥉
