Last night South Australian Cricket Association held their Community Cricket Awards, recognising and celebrating the incredible volunteers who make our game what it is.
A special moment for our club, with Chairman Rhiannon Fenwick acknowledged for 10 years of service to cricket, along with being named Blasters Coordinator of the Year.
This award highlights her dedication to inclusion within the Blasters program, continually adapting sessions to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, play and feel part of the game, no matter their ability.
A fantastic moment for our club and a great sign that we are heading in the right direction.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Jordy Perna-Hague, a valued member of Central United and a proud premiership player in our 2023/24 team.
Jordy was part of our 2023/24 premiership season, Jordy was a teammate, a mate, and someone who wore our colours with pride. He had an infectious smile with a wicked sense of humor which everyone fell in love with and loved to be around.
Gone far too soon and will not be forgotten.
If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out and support them or help guide them to the right person for support. A conversation can make all the difference.

Our Mini Units played their last game of the season last night, and what a way to finish! 🏏

What a day we celebrated yesterday
To see so many past players return for our premiership reunion was something really special. Watching everyone come together, swap stories over a beer, relive the glory days and stand side by side supporting our current cricketers was an incredible sight. It’s days like this that remind us how strong our club connections and as mentioned yesterday once you’ve been part of it, you’re always part of it. Thank you for taking time out of your weekend to make the trip down to Mofflin it truly means a lot to our club.
A huge thank you to Daz & Cath for their tireless efforts behind the bar and helping with the food we couldn’t do it without you.
To Tash, thank you for your continued team management support your work never goes unnoticed.
Thank you to Smithfield Cricket Club for your support and for joining us after the game it was great to share the afternoon together.
And thank you to Cr Clint Marsh - City of Playford attending and supporting our club.

This weekend’s cricket matches 🏏
Our Under 10s have started their break a little early, with tonight’s game being called off due to the heat. Stay cool, team!
Our Seniors are back at home tomorrow, taking on Adelaide Union from 1pm. Come down and support the lads!
But the match of the weekend is happening Sunday at our Club Christmas Party with our Cricketers vs Footballers T20 showdown!
Will Captain Fenwick steer the cricketers to another victory, or will the footballers even up the score?
Either way, it’s one you won’t want to miss

Round 9 vs Parafield Gardens ❤️🤍💙
Perfect cricket conditions for Round 9, and in a shock to absolutely no one, Captain Fenwick lost the toss… again. So off we marched into the field.
With Jayden away, the Chad grabbed the new ball and bowled and got to work with a tidy unfortunately no wicket in the first over, but the pressure was on.
Enter young Ryan who clearly had his Weet-Bix taking our first wicket in the 4th over thanks to Jamie “Safe Hands” Wegener, who refuses to drop anything. Ryan wasn’t done yet, grabbing another wicket in his next over to sit pretty at 2/17 by the end of the 6th.
Chad returned to claim his own wicket, and the field chat suddenly lifted when ex-Units player Jaffer walked out. Ryan sent one down, Jamie did Jamie things, and Jaffer was sent packing before he could unpack his batting form.
Then our youngest superhero Siddall Curtis decided it was his turn to shine taking two wickets in two overs like it was just another day at school sport. Jye and Chad cleaned up what was left, bowling Parafield Gardens out for 120 in the 28th over.
Back to our OG opening pair Deeble and Fenwick and off they went like they had dinner plans.
Five overs in, we were already 0/52, and Deeble was doing everything except applying for a demolition licence. With six massive sixes, no car in the carpark was safe. Someone check the insurance policy.
Unfortunately, his fireworks ended on 73 when he finally found a fielder instead of a fence.
Fenwick just kept doing Fenwick things knocking singles, rotating strike, and pretending he meant to lose the toss while new partner Thomas cruised along beside him. The boys wrapped it up by the 15th over, barely breaking a sweat.
After a couple of tough weeks, the lads finally got the reward they deserved strong bowling, entertaining batting, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.
If the form continues, the carpark might need a helmet next week.

Week 5 Match Report – Central United vs ATCO
Back at home against ATCO, Captain Fenwick lost the toss (again) and we were sent into the field. With one player still snoozing in bed and Jye on a time limit, it was always going to be an interesting day.
Chad opened the bowling and struck early in his first over, with young Ryan taking the other end. Unfortunately, that’s where the early luck ran out the batters quickly found the weak link of Rhiannon in the field and a few dropped catches by others didn’t help.
We didn’t see another wicket until the score reached 111, when Chad took a great catch on the boundary. Fenwick handed the ball to our youngest team member for a crack and it paid off! Another wicket fell thanks to our newest footballer-turned-cricketer, Luke, who held onto a nice catch to have them 3/124.
Captain Fenwick then brought himself on, and after a dropped catch from the bloke with the gloves, he got his breakthrough Woodsy making up for his earlier miss by taking one behind the stumps. Fenwick then tore through the tail, finishing with 4/44 off 7 overs and plenty of encouragement (and heckling) from the football lads on the sidelines.
With the ball done, it was our turn to bat. Deeble and Chad opened up, but Chad was the first to head back for 4. Young Ethan followed but fell short for 0. Woodsy, full of confidence, strutted to the crease looking ready for a long stay… but was next to go for 4.
Our very own Sleeping Beauty, Jordy, finally awake, came in and put on a show with some big sixes while Fenwick was doing his thing with a few boundaries and rotating the strike. Fenwick was eventually bowled for 25, and Jordy was left trying to keep it going with Luke, who unfortunately went for 0.
Ryan and Curtis batted like they had all day blocking solidly and running hard. Ryan fell for 5, and Rhiannon popped in to join Curtis briefly before heading straight back.
We finished all out for 106 in 28 overs not quite enough, but plenty of fun (and stories) to come out of it. ❤️🤍💙
