We would love to see more participants at Trivia. Please phone Matt on 8366 4144 for more information.

BUILDING SOCIAL CONNECTIONS: On the second and third Tuesday of each month (and fifth if the month allows!) a dedicated group of Burnside residents catch up to test their general knowledge and compete for bragging rights 💪

The Let's Get Trivial program, launched two years ago, is a group social support activity based on the Australian tradition of local pub quiz nights - with alcohol swapped out for tea and coffee.

The program has proven successful in helping attendees to keep their minds active and maintain healthy social connections, with attendee Vida singing her praises about the group.

‘We love the Let’s Get Trivial program; we wish we could do it every week,’ Vida said. ‘We always look forward to it, but we would love to get more people.’

South Australian seniors should be aware of misleading websites which charge applicants a fee of $29 or more to coordinate the application process.

The official SA Seniors Card website is www.seniorscard.sa.gov.au.
If you have provided payment to an unofficial website:
- contact your bank immediately,
- make a report to Scamwatch, the Australian Government’s National Anti-Scam Centre at www.scamwatch.gov.au, and
- make a report to the Australian Cyber Security Centre at www.cyber.gov.au/report-and-recover/report.

With more scorching temperatures forecast this week, it’s important to stay cool and protect yourself from the heat.

High heat can lead to dehydration and heat-related illnesses. To stay safe, make sure to:

✔️ Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.

✔️ Avoid outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day (11am - 3pm) and opt for light, breathable clothing.
✔️ Stay indoors in air-conditioned spaces or find a shaded spot to rest.

Don’t forget to check on vulnerable loved ones, including older people and young children.
