đź”´ WEAR RED ROUND đź”´

This weekend, Souths Rugby will proudly support Wear Red Round by wearing red armbands across our club.

Wear Red Round is a national initiative that honours women killed by gender-based violence and encourages sporting clubs to play an active role in creating safe, respectful and inclusive environments for everyone.

The two red armbands represent two important messages:

🔴 Awareness – acknowledging the impact of gender-based violence and recognising the role sporting clubs can play in preventing it.

🔴 Accountability – a commitment to speaking up, supporting others and creating club cultures where respect, safety and inclusion are non-negotiable.

At Souths, we believe rugby is about far more than wins and losses. It is about community. It is about belonging. It is about creating an environment where every player, volunteer, official, parent and supporter feels valued, respected and safe.

The values we teach our juniors, the standards we set for our seniors, and the culture we build together all shape the kind of club we are. Wear Red Round is an opportunity to reinforce those values and demonstrate that there is no place for violence, abuse or disrespect in our game or our community.

So this weekend, we invite our entire Souths family to stand with us. Wear red, wear your armband, start conversations and help us continue building the positive, inclusive and supportive club culture that Souths is proud to represent.

đź”´ Wear Red. Stand in Solidarity.

This week Souths are at home - and both our club and Old Collegians Rugby Club are highlighting the Wear Red Campaign - which is focused on gender equity and violence prevention.

Gender-based violence is a national crisis, and every club is accountable for creating a safe environment.

This campaign encourages all supporters to wear red, and players to wear two red armbands on the field - the first acknowledging violence against women; the second to represent accountability.

Join us in showing support by wearing red and standing together to honour the 77 women killed by gender-based violence in 2025 and the 24 women who have died so far this year.

It's time.

đź’™SCHNITTY 4 SAMđź’™

This week, we’re doing something a little different for dinner and supporting a cause close to our hearts - the Sammy D Foundation 💙

An organisation whose mission is to end youth violence… something we couldn’t stand behind more strongly as a club and community.

As we approach the midpoint of the season, whether you’re a regular Thursday night dinner guest or you’ve been meaning to come down for a meal, there’s no better week to join us.

This Thursday is “Schnitty Your Way” 🍽️
🥩 Beef or chicken
🍟 Classic with chips, salad & gravy
🍔 Or as a burger

And for every schnitzel meal sold, Souths will donate $2.50 to the Sammy D Foundation as part of .

started in memory of Sam Davis, who tragically lost his life to a one-punch attack at just 17 years old. Through education and community programs, the Sammy D Foundation works to ensure young people understand that violence is never the answer.

So come in, have a great feed, support an even better cause, and share a meal with a mate 💙💙💙

Eat up. Speak up. Be part of it.

As Volunteers Week draws to a close, we hear from the future of Souths talking about the true heart of our club - OUR VOLUNTEERS. 💚❤️💚

From coaches, managers and medics, to the kitchen crew, bar staff, committee members, ground marshals, canteen helpers, jersey washers and everyone in between… Souths simply would not exist without you.

This video is a reminder that while volunteers may not always realise it, the impact they have on our members - young and old - is enormous. You are the people who create the environment that makes Souths feel like home. Through your time, care and commitment, you help build connection, community, friendships and memories that stretch far beyond the rugby field.

To every single person who gives up their time, whether it’s every week or just when you can, THANK YOU! Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, endless jobs behind the scenes, the lifts, the cooking, the cheering, the organising and the care you show our players and families.

You are appreciated more than words can say, and Souths is a better place because of you.

From all of us at Souths… thank you for being the heart of our club. 💚❤️💚
