One of the biggest myths in running is that you have to run continuously to be a “real runner.”
You don’t.

Walking during a run doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
Running slowly doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.
Starting from scratch doesn’t mean you don’t belong.

The truth is that consistency beats perfection every single time.

At Cam’s Run Club, we don’t care how fast you are, how far you can run, or whether you need walk breaks.

We’re here for the people who are just getting started.
The people rebuilding confidence.
The people who never thought they’d call themselves runners.

I Tricked My Brain Into Loving Running 31/05/2026

I used to think running just wasn’t for me. Every run felt miserable and I couldn’t understand how people actually enjoyed it.

Over time, I made a few simple changes that completely changed my relationship with running. Not physical changes. Psychological ones.

I put together a short video explaining the biggest things that helped me go from dreading runs to genuinely looking forward to them.

I’d love to know if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Running starts as a nice pace time. Gets you out of the house. Has you feeling physically and mentally healthier. But then…
You enjoy it a little too much.
You start changing plans for your running schedule. You can’t have that drink because it’ll “mess up” your long run. You can’t have a normal conversation without circling the conversation back to your training plan. You slowly become insufferable. But that’s ok. You are our people. And there’s plenty of time to reflect on all this, during your long runs! 👀😂

A few weeks ago this was just an idea.

Today it’s become a community effort supported by incredible local businesses, community members and people who simply want to make a difference.
