A weekend full of PBs and medals, congratulations Purruna Swim Team on an excellent State Short Course Championships this weekend
Our swimmers were supported by Coaches Hannah and Adrian and did a great job performing strongly in each and every event they contested

While our Team have been preparing for SA State Short Course Championships our Head Coach and Taylor have been in Bangkok with the Australian Team for the Virtus Swimming World Championships
Taylor had some great results as you can see below;
4th - 50m freestyle
6th - 100m freestyle
7th - 200m freestyle
7th - 100m backstroke
2nd - 50m butterfly 🥈
5th - 100m butterfly
5th - 200m IM
1st - women’s 4x50 freestyle relay 🥇
1st - women’s 4x50 medley relay 🥇
2nd - women’s 4x100 freestyle relay 🥈
1st - women’s 4x200 freestyle relay 🥇
4th - mixed 4x100 freestyle relay
Team Australia also took out the overall prize as the top nation at the Championships
Another special moment for Taylor was when she was selected to be the flag bearer for the opening ceremony alongside her team mate Ryan

🏊♀️ What a day!
The inaugural Purruna Swim Meet and official opening of the Stephen Norris Family Aquatic Centre was a resounding success!

🌊 20 proud Purruna swimmers
Thank you to all the clubs and competitors who made the day such a success. A huge shout out to the Swimming SA referees and technical officials for your professionalism and support.
A special acknowledgement to Peter Graham OAM, who played an integral role in the official proceedings and announced races throughout the day. With four Olympic Games under his belt as a commentator, it was a privilege to have him involved in this milestone event.
This is just the beginning. 💙

Congratulations to Taylor Corry Ply on today’s announcement that she will represent Australia this coming August at the Virtus World Swimming Championships in Bangkok

Sport Inclusion Australia is pleased to announce the Australian Swimming team for the 2025 Virtus World Swimming Championships in Bangkok.
30 swimmers have been selected across all classes and states and territories except Tasmania and Northern Territory.
Sport Inclusion Australia CEO Robyn Smith is looking forward to seeing a strong performance from the Australians in the pool, not only the experience elite swimmers, but the new swimmers representing their country for the first time.
Head Coach Matt McSorley is looking forward to working with the team. “I am really pleased to be taking such a large team of athletes away, we have a good blend of experienced swimmers as well as the large number of debutants that will take great pride in representing their Nation at the Virtus World Championships.” McSorley said.
The Championships will be held in Bangkok, Thailand from 20-30 August,

That’s a warp for Australian Open Long Course Championships 2025, congratulations Taylor on a great week
Taylor competed in 6 events and made 6 finals with the following results
1 x🥇 Gold - 50m Fly
3 x 🥈 Silver - 200m Free, 50m Back, 200m Free
1 x 🥉 Bronze - 50m Free
2 x 4th Place - 100m Back, 200m IM
1 x 9th Place - 100m Free
All 6 events broke South Australian Records

Day 4 of Australian Open Championships saw Taylor through to another two finals where she improved her heat times in both!
Taylor added two more medals to the ones from earlier this week with a Silver🥈in the 100m Fly and a Bronze🥉 in the 50m Free

Day 3 of Australian Open Swimming Championships and Taylor competed in another two events, making another two finals
Taylor came 4th in the 200m IM and picked up her third medal of the Championships with a Silver medal in the 50m Back

For the forth and last day tomorrow Taylor will be racing in the 100m Fly and 50m Free

Day 2 saw Taylor in another two finals with good swims and improving on her heats time in both. Taylor placed 9th in the 100m Free and 4th in the 100m Back.
