🏁 𝟮𝟰 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 🏁

Over the weekend Henry and Greg competed in the 24 hours of Nurburgring. Obviously 24 hours between 2 people was a lot of work so they went searching and found some extra teammates, enter Steven Barker and Adam Barker. No relation (that we know of), Steven races against the boys in the rumble league. Adam was found by Greg on an iracing community page and being from the Uk would be handy for the overnight stint

Adam would qualify and start the race from p18. A relatively calm start saw cars moving forwards and backwards, Adam bringing the car back without a scratch in 18th handing over the Henry for the first of many double stints for the boys, he had a run in with a lapped car at the start of his second stint misjudging their intentions, they came together Henry making contact with the wall, luckily the damage was minimal and after 2 stints was now sitting p9 and handed over to Steven who continued the strong start moving up the p5 by the end of his stint with Greg jumping in for the first night stint of the race he did an awesome job with a clean stint and after everyone’s first runs done they were p4 within 2 minutes of the leader and no repairs required.

The nighttime driving was done by Adam, Greg and Steven while Henry went to bed hoping to be fresh for alot of driving the next day, the dark and unforgiving nature took its toll but was all able to be fixed during pitstops without losing any time sitting still so come sunrise they were still on the lead lap battling for p4. An awesome overnight effort.

Just after Adam went for a sleep, Greg was coming to the end of what would be his final stint when unfortunately he came across a car throwing flick turn on a blind corner right in front of him, he had nowhere to go and t-boned the car leaving with substantial damage. Greg managed to limp around for almost an entire lap before handing over to Henry who had 18 minutes of repairs to get ready for his first stint of the day. Eager to get out and make up for lost time he came unstuck on his outlap and got into the fence pretty hard, crab walking back to the pits for another 8 minutes of repairs, after that he put in a strong stint and a top 20 was still on the cards when came unstuck on his out lap again crab walking back to pits against for more repairs he decided to hand over to Steve while he tried to wake himself up.

For the next 10 hours Steve and Henry went back and forth trying to salvage a top 30 result which they achieved right before handing back to Adam for the final stint who was able to grab another spot for p29 at the chequered flag.

While the potential for a top 5 was there, the main goal was to finish which we achieved and it wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of Steven and Adam and the boys are incredibly grateful for jumping in with them to experience such an awesome event.
