Join us for a beautiful ballet repertoire workshop inspired by one of the most iconic classical ballet works, danced to the breathtaking music of Chopin. Expect flowing movement, romantic artistry and a gentle, immersive studio experience.

This workshop is open to adult dancers and suitable for all levels, with plenty of guidance and support throughout the session.

Les Sylphides is a short, plotless "ballet blanc" (white ballet) set to piano music by Frédéric Chopin and orchestrated by Alexander Glazunov. Les Sylphides is one of the most beautiful and iconic classical ballet works of all time, full of artistry, musicality, softness and romantic style. A true dream for anyone who loves classical ballet.

As promised...throwing it back to 2015… when Dance Alive first began in the UK✨
​
What started as a simple idea quickly grew into something so much more. In our very first year, we offered classes, workshops, a retreat weekend away, an outing to the theatre to watch a show together and even performance opportunities through our resident amateur companies—Alive Ballet Company and Alive Contemporary Dance Company.
​
It was a space built on passion and a shared love for dance… and the community that formed was truly special.
​
These photos bring back so many memories, beautiful moments on stage, in the studio, and even our celebration dinner… with little Kaly in my arms 💕
​
It’s incredible to look back and see where it all began. From studios at The Place to Sadler's Wells studio to Finsbury Town Hall. Classes were all over London with beautiful humans from all over the world. 🥰

𝟭𝟭 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 ✨
​
Eleven years ago… Dance Alive was born in the UK most suddenly.
​
I was eight months pregnant with my first child, and I had made what I thought was the right decision at the time to not return to my teaching job after giving birth and instead focus entirely on my baby.
​
And then… everything changed.
​
A group of 14 adult students reached out to me. They said, “We want you to teach us. We will wait until you are ready. In the meantime, you find someone to cover you… But we want you.”
​
In that moment, something lit up inside of me.
​
A quiet voice that said… this is your time.
​
Am I ready?
​
Well… sort of 😅
​
But I said yes.
​
From there, it was a whirlwind, searching for studio spaces in London, building a website, and figuring out all the things no one teaches you about running a business…
​
And then one moment I will never forget:
​
I was in the hospital, feeding baby Kaly, when I received a phone call from Diana, one of those beautiful students. (Shout out to )
​
She said,
“I found our space.”
​
Just like that.
​
In the same season of my life, I gave birth to my daughter…
and to Dance Alive.
​
Three months later, those dancers were performing a mid-year concert.
​
Six months later, I was back in the studio.
​
And the rest… is history.
​
Today, 11 years on, I look at what Dance Alive has become, a community, a home, a space where so many adults reconnect with themselves and I feel nothing but gratitude.
​
What started with 14 dancers and a leap of faith has grown into something so much bigger than I could have imagined.
​
And it all began with people who believed in me… before I fully believed in myself.
