🥎 2026 Memorial Shield – EOIs Closing Soon! 🕷️

Want to represent the West Coburg Redbacks in this year’s Memorial Shield? Don’t miss your chance!

Memorial Shield is a fantastic pre-season tournament and the perfect opportunity to prepare for the summer season while enjoying some great competition.

Who’s eligible?
🥎 Open competition
🥎 Junior players aged 14 years and over are eligible to play
🥎 Last season we proudly entered both a Women’s and Men’s team – let’s do it again!

We’re also looking for volunteers to help make it all happen. If you’d like to get involved as a:

✅ Team Manager
✅ Scorer
..please submit an Expression of Interest too!

💰 Team entry and umpire fees are $500 per team, with costs shared among participating players.
📅 EOIs close Friday 31 July, as we need to finalise our team entries.

🕷️ Registrations for the 2026/27 Season are NOW OPEN! 🥎

Whether you’re returning to the Redbacks or joining us for the very first time, we’d love to have you as part of our club family this season.

This year’s registration has been designed to help us create the best possible experience for everyone. We’ll be asking about:

✅ Your preferred training nights
✅ Whether you’re looking for a competitive or social playing experience
✅ Feedback to help us continue supporting and developing our coaches
✅ How you’d like to volunteer and be involved around the club

Last season, our volunteer matching program was a huge success. Thanks to the incredible support of our members, we had helpers across every part of the club and it truly showed. We’d love to build on that again this season because many hands really do make light work.

Parents – we’d also love you to register as a Non-Playing Club Member (if you’re not playing yourself). It’s free to be part of the Redbacks family in an official capacity, you’ll receive a FREE Redbacks members hat, and your membership helps us demonstrate the strength of our club to sponsors, Softball Victoria and Softball Australia, opening the door to more opportunities, funding and recognition.

🏆 Good luck to our very own Redback, David Leclerc, as he represents Victoria at the 2026 Over 35 Men’s National Championship (Bob Harrow Memorial Trophy) in Blacktown, NSW, from 7–12 July.

We’re incredibly proud to see one of our own competing on the national stage and representing both our club and Victoria with pride.

🔴 AGM Reminder – This Monday! 🔴

A reminder to all Redbacks members that our 2026 Annual General Meeting will be held online this Monday, 6 July, at 7:30pm.

The AGM is an important opportunity to hear about the club’s achievements over the past year and help shape the future of the club, and elect the 2026/27 Committee.

If you’re interested in joining the committee, or would simply like to attend, please RSVP via Revsport. Supporting documentation will be provided to members who RSVP.

GRAND FINAL WEEK IS HERE!!! ❤️🖤

This weekend marks the final round of our summer season, with two of our junior teams stepping into Grand Final action — our U14s and U16s will take the field at our home ground, ready to give it everything they’ve got. We’re incredibly proud of what both teams have achieved this season and can’t wait to cheer them on.

Our T-Ball and U12s will also be out there for their final regular games, wrapping up what has been another wonderful summer season for our youngest Redbacks.

As hosts for the day, we’ll also need all hands on deck across the club to help everything run smoothly. If you’re available to assist in any way, please let the committee know your availability — every helping hand makes a difference and helps create a great day for all teams involved 🙌

As the season comes to a close, we want to sincerely thank all of our players, families, coaches, volunteers, committee members, scorers and supporters who have contributed throughout the season. Every training night, game day, helping hand and show of support is part of what makes our Redbacks community so special ❤️

A huge thank you to our committee for the time, effort and care that goes into keeping the club running behind the scenes week after week 👏

To all teams taking the field this weekend — enjoy the moment, play hard and finish the season strong.
