WKAED | ROUND 5 β Sportsman Endurance Karting NSW Championship | COFFS HARBOUR
What an incredible weekend for the Wright Karts Australia Endurance Division (WKAED), with four Wright Karts taking to the track and proving once again just how competitive the SWRD Hyperion and Pro Suzuka 2 chassis are.
* Kart #6 β WKAED Factory Team (Hyperion Chassis)
The factory team put on an absolute masterclass all weekend. Fastest in the wet, fastest in the dry on Saturday, and then backed it up on Sunday with a blistering 46.016-second lap β the fastest lap of the entire meeting.
The team controlled the race from the front and had built a commanding three-lap lead with just 15 minutes remaining. Unfortunately, a clutch issue struck at the worst possible moment, ending what looked to be a certain victory and dropping the team to 3rd outright.
Motorsport can be cruel, but the pace, consistency and performance shown throughout the weekend leave no doubt about the capability of the Hyperion package.
* Kart #2 β Deja 2 (Hyperion Chassis)
Deja 2 put together a consistent and faultless race, maintaining strong pace throughout the event and recording an impressive 46.070-second lap. They were running in second position when Kart #6 encountered its late mechanical issue and were in the right place to capitalise, taking the overall victory.
Congratulations to the entire Deja 2 crew on another fantastic result.
* Kart #272 β Venom Racing (Hyperion Chassis)
After making some minor chassis adjustments during Friday practice, Venom Racing unlocked exceptional pace. They recorded the 5th fastest lap of the entire weekend (46.408), claimed Class Victory, and finished an impressive 5th outright.
A fantastic result that further demonstrated the outright speed of the Hyperion chassis.
* Kart #17 β WED Racing (Pro Suzuka 2 Chassis) WED Racing Group
Despite missing one of their regular drivers and overcoming challenges throughout the race, WED Racing never gave up. Competing in the highly competitive Sportsmax Class, they produced a strong performance to finish 14th outright, 4th in class, and set a very respectable 46.815-second lap.
An outstanding effort from the entire team.
Across the weekend, all four teams demonstrated the speed, reliability and competitiveness of the Wright Kart platform. While luck wasn't on everyone's side, the results and lap times speak for themselves.
