After 6 months in a growth phase, it’s time for a tidy up. Since my cut, which ended in October last year, I have gained 6kgs on the scales. I am hoping that at least a little of that is some muscle tissue growth! For the next 6-8 weeks I will be doing a moderate to aggressive mini cut to see. It’s been awesome eating in a modest surplus, but it’s time to rein it in and get to work. Time to see what’s under this fluff!!
Look no further. Here I am. Message me to see how I can help you!
For this Client Capture I would like to shout out the beautiful Tenisha! Tenisha has chosen to do a 12 week block with me which includes a Training program, a weekly 1 to 1 PT session, plus check-ins to track progress. We are 4 weeks in and Tenisha is absolutely smashing it! Tenisha came to me already having lost a significant amount of weight and wanted to continue her fatloss journey while building muscle mass to create a toned physique. Tenisha is already progressively overloading and moving some impressive weight and has also continued to see the scales go down. Her discipline and dedication to her training and nutrition is evident in the results she is already achieving. Thank you Tenisha for being such a model client and a pleasure to train. I can see great things happening and I am so here for it!
I asked Tenisha what it’s like training with me. Here’s what she said:
“Since training with Jess, I’ve become so much more comfortable and excited to walk into the gym. Having a clear plan and knowing exactly what I need to do each session has made such a huge difference. Becoming stronger and healthier has always been a major goal of mine, and since working with Jess, it finally feels achievable. Reaching the goals I’m chasing takes a lot of hard work, and Jess has been incredibly supportive and motivating throughout the process. Her guidance, encouragement, and knowledge has helped me feel confident that I can achieve the results I’m after ☺️

Getting those daily steps in significantly improves cardiovascular health, boosts mental well-being, and aids in weight management. Consistent walking improves lower body strength, improves bone density and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. It helps improve your mood, reducing depression and lowering anxiety. So grab your kids, your dog, the lawn mower or even the vacuum and get moving! Your body will thank you for it!
To some they will see “just another Personal Trainer”. But if you look a little deeper you will see that for this Trainer, this career is very personal. I have spoken about my journey in some of my social media posts but words will never cover how incredibly the gym has changed my life. It didn’t just change the way I look, it changed the way I look at myself and the world around me. It gave me purpose, it taught me discipline but most importantly - it showed me what I was capable of. There is nothing more empowering than taking back your life and turning it around. Choosing yourself and sticking with your goal until you see the results of your efforts. I am so grateful to my very first Personal Trainer who showed me the way in the those first scary months into the unknown world of clanking iron and sore muscles. And for the support of my fantastic gym I will be endlessly indebted. I started as a member at Snap Fitness Beaudesert in June of 2020 - the very first day we opened back up after lock down from Covid, and the very first day for this location. I had never stepped foot in a gym before. I was TERRIFIED. I had my daughter as support for the first couple of weeks but soon it was just me and a new found determination to overcome my anxiety and depression. I would cry in my car, too scared to walk through the doors. But I did walk in - and I did it scared. I would cry in my car before even leaving my house, crippled with feelings of worthlessness and not belonging - but I went anyway - and I did it sad. I found that strong, stubborn, fearless girl I used to be in my teens and she worked so bloody hard to become the woman I am today. I am privileged to now have the opportunity to show others the way. Set them on their path towards their goals and show them what they are made of. It just takes the first step. So remember, if you don’t know where to start, come see me - I’ve got you 🫶💪
I’ve been there. I’ve made the excuses. I’ve felt the tears and frustration. The years of putting myself last. Not admitting how sad and miserable I was. Until one day I just knew, that was not who I wanted to be. And it was up to me to change it. To replace unhealthy habits and behaviours with healthy ones. Taking the first step was hard, sticking with it was harder. There were bumps and setbacks. Tears and anxiety attacks. But step by step, I took that overweight unhappy woman and I turned her into a healthy, strong, badass b!t€h!! I found my worth, my confidence and most importantly, I found me. Not wife, not mum, me! I found strength I never knew I had to stick with this new path and to become the best version of me. I have had some wonderful personal trainers over the years that have helped me along my path. Now, I help others along theirs and what a privilege that is!
One of the main reason people don’t stick to their fitness goals is that they are not willing to go beyond their comfort zone. In order to create change and adaptation, we have to get a bit uncomfortable. Muscles will ache, you may feel a bit hungry, you may feel anxious or daunted by the gym. If this s**t were easy, everyone would look like an athlete and there would be no weight loss industry. But getting uncomfortable, pushing yourself, having some discipline…THAT equals ACHIEVEMENT. When you have put in the work and then see the results, there is no greater dopamine hit than that. Choose you. You are worth it.
💪
If you’re not asking your body to do more, don’t expect it to become more.
Progressive overload = gradually increasing the demand on your body over time.
If you keep lifting the same weights, for the same reps, your body has no reason to change. It adapts… and then plateaus.
To actually build muscle, strength, or endurance, you need to keep giving your body a new challenge. Your body only adapts when it’s pushed beyond what it’s already capable of. No increased demand = no progress.
