#605 off n running.
The mornings are warming up and for our first Pacer week we welcomed 93 people over the line today chasing some of our pacers.
Welcome to the tourists and first timers! We hope you enjoyed Yarrabilba and that we will see you back. Our furthest tourists today were from the UK. Clearly they brought the summer over with them!
Congratulations to the people who got PBs today, some were supported by our 6 pacers but some did it off their own steam!
Well done to the big milestones for a number of people today as well and of course a big a happy birthday to Zeta, who is another year closer to taking the ED title (hopefully she will still want it in 6 years!)
Of course you couldn’t have had your run today without the vollie team, big cheers to Tania D, Spencer R, Melanie S , Zeta B and Brooke S and of course all our Pacers:
Sally, Ricky, Amanda, Leah, Josh and Brenda.
I’m sure everyone appreciates that you gave up a run in order to support your parkrun.
We do need vollies in upcoming weeks - so please do check out the posts through the week where we do a call out and let you know what we need.
The photos are up and of course your results link is below.
Happy 10th anniversary of ED-ship Pete Burns….kept that very quiet.🥰
Happy 12th birthday Z🎉🎂

Happy Friday!
This is your friendly reminder for parkrun at Yarrabilba tomorrow morning- 1st pacer week of Spring 2026 😀
🥵The weather is predicted to be clear, but I guess we aren’t getting a spring really with temperatures starting at 12 but predicted to get to 30 😳. A 5km trot will likely leave you needing to hydrate- please bring your water!
🎒Please put your gear on the table on the left when looking at the shelter from the front as we want to keep the other table freed up for things needed for parkrun admin. The vollies will move any gear left on the vollie table to the other one once parkrun has started.
🎉Please let RD Pete know of any parkrun milestones or birthday celebrations before tomorrow’s Run Brief. We have a few already on our agenda and a certain junior RD is having herself a birthday for parkrun tomorrow!
😊 We have a full team of ground crew vollies to help out tomorrow:
🏃♀️✔️Brooke and Zeta on Course Check
🗣️ Amanda is doing the First Timers Brief
⏱️Spencer on Timekeeping
🤘Mel on Finish Tokens
🙌 Tania on Barcode Scanning
🌟Zeta, Ava and Brooke are Tailwalkers
📣 Pete as RD
Pacers, we have one as at this post on Friday afternoon! But that’s okay, we usually get a bunch of people who step up last minute. The singlets will be there for any who want to take on a Pacer role😊
😎We would love to have others join the volunteer hall of fame, plenty of opportunities in coming weeks to get that satisfaction of helping your parkrun continue.
As for the practical stuff -
📶 Barcodes- no excuse! You can have them on your phones now, or in the 5k App, so really why would you get to the finish line and NOT have your barcode!?!?
💢If you get to parkrun tomorrow and realise you aren’t registered or don’t have a physical barcode, check out the QR codes that we leave on the admin table to register or to get the 5k app on your phone.
🕖Times for tomorrow:
🔅6:30-6:40 Vollies arrive & prepare
🔅6:45 First timers arrival time
🔅6:50 First timer’s briefing - SUPER IMPORTANT if it’s your first time.
🔅6:55 Main briefing, includes milestones.
🔅7:00 timekeeper says “GO”.
See you there - RD Pete 😊

One volunteer needed for Yarrabilba parkrun this weekend!
Have we got anyone who would like to do an easy and quick volunteering role of First Timers Briefing?! You can come, tell everybody where to go and then run the course! How easy is that?
Let us know below if you’d like to be the friendly face that tourists and newbies first meet at Yarrabilba.
Thanks RD team
