Yogarpanam consists of two words. Yoga and Arpanam. Yoga is derived from the Samskrtm root Yuj which means to Unite. Arpanam means an Offering or to Surrender. As per our Ancient Yogic Wisdom the Uniting with the Highest aspect of the Self with complete Surrender is the Yoga of Action. Email [email protected]

LIVING TRADITION OF OUR RESPECTED YOGA TEACHINGS

18/02/2026

My friends, I share this from my heart. There is only one thing that can make yoga alive in you, by living up to its teachings. Skills in teaching, demonstrating tough postures, preaching etc will work only when you apply them to your daily living. Remember Yoga is a relationship you cultivate with yourself, it's about making friends with yourself first and the rest happens on its own naturally and spontaneously.
Yoga is ahimsa, and not a performance or social activity.
🙏
Photo taken in the room of Sri Ramanna Maharshi’s mother. A circle of sunlight fell on the palms at that moment of deep silence which am sharing here.

Niralamba Sirsasana.

Trying hard. Still Learning. Long way to go.
And more than anything Yoga is not just about doing asanas but what you learn from the learning and unlearning of it along the process, just like any committed activity undertaken 🤎🧡🤍

Having lived in different countries and among diverse cultures has been a learning experience of people’s perception of and . Education gives us information, multiple qualifications and degrees can be thought synonymous to success and intelligence. One can have a PhD and still be unintelligent, and one may not, and be wise and intelligent. Yoga is intelligent and not an academic, certified qualification of being able to just teach, postures, philosophy, pranayama or just chant mantras. , is an integral pillar of . It begins with being non violent in thought deed and action, with human and non human animals. How many are mentioned in the most authoritativetexts of Yoga like and ? Ahimsa is also related to avoiding activities that are stimulating or inertia laden, including food that causes dullness like , , and food that comes out of pain. Foods and activities can dysregulate the mind and body instruments that violate the gentleness of Ahimsa, and make the mind dull or restless which becomes an obstacle in the journey of cultivating Ahimsa for yourself and other sentient beings who do is no harm.

This is a well intentioned note to myself that I am sharing with those who may read this.

The concept of a yoga practise in the 21st century is totally misunderstood by the majority.
YOGASANAS ARE ALSO PROJECTED IN SUCH A COMPETITIVE MANNER.

REMEMBER YOGA PRACTISES ARE MEANT TO KILL THE EGO AND MAKE ONE SINCERE AND NON COMPETITIVE.

NOT THE OTHER WAY ROUND.

Respect the source of the practises.

Teach based on the original principles of Yoga so that a student benefits genuinely to reach the actual goal of Yoga.

True power isn’t in controlling the world, it’s in the ability to discriminate between the real and the unreal, ('Viveka'), while staying grounded in the body and mind.

Embracing the jewels and richness of the imperfection in perfection that leads to a whole dimension of Love. Just being present.
Honouring the NOW.

Being inwards. Respecting. Faith. Going beyond the external activities/distractions and living it through the body with the power to discriminate the real and unreal world.

Travelling through ups and downs. Learning. Growing.
Stability. Grounded. Malleable. Ductile. Ahimsa for sentient beings, humans and non human animals.

That is a beautiful, grounded reflection. It touches on several deep ancient eastern wisdom pillars towards peace, specifically the concept of Viveka (discrimination between the real and unreal) and Ahimsa (non-violence) towards sentient beings.

Beginnings and ends, two sides of a coin called life!

Wishes of a kinder and more compassionate year for all sentient beings, humans and non human animals.

AHIMSA

Happy Vegan Day
Animals are sentient beings like us.
Be kind.

Living is an art.
Language is for communication to be used sincerely.
Learning never ceases.
Degrees and certificates are not the sole measure of credibility.
We live in an imaginary world, caught in transactional bo***ge.
Constructive imagination for the planet is a better choice than destructive
Life is so much more than name, fame, recognition and bucks.
Ahimsa is the very basis of a sound mind foundation.
Crossing paths with kindness is precious.
Conditioning impairs our real nature.

On another note, do Yoga, Veganism and Ahimsa have a common thread?

The entire study of Yoga is a direct contact between the teacher and student, through which the student learns to connect with their own self and other sentient beings in kindness, including animals and humans.

Interest can be invoked by watching videos or listening or reading. But the real transformation can and will only happen with the one on one deep connect between the teacher and student, a connect of complete respect, trust and surrender.

The body and mind need to prepared, kneaded and cleansed to receive these teachings. This is a constant process, can take a second or few lifetimes. Till this is not understood the teachings will never sink in living.

Yoga study is not like studying physiotherapy, physics, chemistry, zoology or botany!
Guidance is the key and these things cannot be just handled without the right guidance which comes with the support of Grace(Isvara Kripa) alone. Sometimes it can even cause harm and we need to understand this.

Wishing all of us a mindful understanding and progressively expansive journey.

Yoga is not an academic subject, requires not just an intellect, but a kind heart, with Ahimsa.

What and how one intakes and consumes matter.
