Today I’m at the Macleay River AU-10469 where it meets the Pacific at South West Rocks on the NSW north coast between Port Macquarie and Coffs. I’ll be on 40 meters between 0045 and 0145 UTC today, Monday 7 September 2026.

I have the IC-7300 running on a JPC-12, 5.2 metre coiled vertical.

This is an interesting look at radio from a Millennials perspective. I was a in the 70’s and 80’s. I marvelled at the amazing sounds coming from around the world to this little Sony table radio in my bedroom on Sydney’s northern beaches. Today, shortwave isn’t what it used to be due to the Internet and satellites. Today my focus is on . That was a nice day at Gladstone State Forest AU-7733 on the Coffs Coast. It was the first time the park had been activated. I was at 450 metres, sunshine and 20 degrees.

Today I’m at Gladstone State Forest AU-7733 on the Coffs Coast. I’ll be on 40 and 15 meters between 0200 and 0400 UTC today, Sunday 30 August 2026.

This is the inaugural activation of this park. I’m am at Mount Gladstone at about 450 metres which is 150 meters below the peak.

I have the IC-7300 running on an 5.2 metre vertical for 15 meters and a vertical v-dipole on 40.
