The Bendigo Senior Secondary College (BSSC) Lions competed in the School Sport Victoria (SSV) Senior Boys Hockey State Championships on Friday 21st August at the Footscray Hockey Club.

Great job from our Eaglehawk Members once again taking part in other amazing sporting opportunities through their school!

🌟 Our Under 14's played their hearts out tonight in the Preliminary - however it was not the result we hoped for.

Paul, Barbie and Callum coached this team to great victory through the season. Thank you to our amazing coaches!

And well done to the kids for a hard fought out match, parents and families for the support!

Seniors Sunday - with 3/4 teams in Finals this year - starting from 10am.

🍨🎉🥳🥧🌭 Thursday night we had our 'End of Season' celebrations for our Juniors ahead of their finals campaign.

A great session of fun games from the coaches before an amazing spread in the clubrooms!

Thanks to those who helped with coaching the fun session and then those who served the hungry kids (and adults!), it was organised perfection!

Huge shoutout to our Treasurer Jess Burleigh for organising the catering spread, so many selections and no complaints!

🌎🏑 - Around the Grounds SENIOR GIRLS HOCKEY - SSV STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS - Footscray

The Bendigo Senior Secondary College (BSSC) Lions competed in the School Sport Victoria (SSV) Senior Girls Hockey State Championships on Tuesday 18th August at the Footscray Hockey Club.

Our Zoe's were part of this team - Zoe Ross & Zoe Taylor and Coached by Dan Gibbons.

The girls had a draw, loss & win for the day with Zoe Ross finding the back of the net.

The team finished second in their pool which is a great effort. A huge thank you to Dan Gibbons for coaching.

🌎🏑 Around the Grounds - Amsterdam, Netherlands - World Youth Hockey Festival.

Whilst the Kookaburras & Hockeyroos are over playing the FIH World Cup - our local Eaglehawk lad Logan Cattanach is over competing in the;

"World Youth Hockey Festival" with thanks to the Sunraysia Hockey Association who have sent over a team!

What an amazing experience for Logan and these small town Victorians to be a part of!

The World Hockey Youth Festival is an official youth side event of the 2026 Hockey World Cup, organized by The Hockey Department. In August, U16 and U18 boys and girls teams from all over the world will come together in Amsterdam to compete, learn, and enjoy world-class hockey.
