Things we think are worth paying for in a gym membership๐Ÿ’›

A space that's actually child-friendly, not just tolerant of it. Coaches who've lived it as well as studied it. A "how are you doing?" that's a real question. A body that's allowed to change and will be supported in every season. Trackies stained with god know what and nobody cares. An upset bubba we'll try to help settle. A worried Mama met with compassion and kindness.

That's what you get here. Every class, every day. It's the MTM way.

There was nowhere for mums like me and that is why I started MTM.

Becoming a mum was the most amazing, life changing and loneliest thing that ever happened to me, sometimes in the same hour.

Someone depended on me every hour of every day, I was becoming a completely new person, and I had no family nearby to lean on. I had a mums' group, once a week. It wasn't enough. Not even close.

I wanted to move my body again, but everywhere I looked it was yoga with bub, or a gym with a creche that I wasn't ready to leave my baby in. And underneath all of that was something that frustrated me even more: being told to just walk, swim, do some yoga, when I knew strength training had real, proven benefits for women's bodies. Women deserved better guidance than that. We still do.

Then , whilst 26 weeks pregnant with my second, I lost my dad suddenly at the age of 54. Life felt too short to keep waiting for someone else to build the thing I needed and if I am being honest- it also gave me strength to overcome the fear of what people might say if I try this.

I had two under two, and even the limited options I'd found for exercise with one baby didn't exist for more than one. So I built it myself. A place to train safely and effectively, with your babies with you. A place that felt like a real community, somewhere you could show up every single day, not once a week, and get out of your house and your head and back into your body.

That place is MTM. That's why it exists. And it's why every mum who walks through our doors matters so much to me.

If you're in it right now, the amazing and the lonely all at once, we're here . We exist for you x

Let's clear a few things up ๐Ÿ‘‡

If you're still waiting for permission to move while pregnant, this is it. So much real research is happening right now on pregnancy and postpartum exercise, led by amazing women like Dr Margie Davenport, who chaired both the Canadian and WHO physical activity guidelines. What it's showing is that gentle movement in those early weeks isn't something you have to avoid until the magical 6 week check, it can genuinely support your healing to start before. Every woman is different, every pregnancy and birth is- this new research allows us to step away from blanket statements based on opinions and to use actual evidence from real research.

And that "no core work until 12 weeks" rule? The old belief was to wait it out entirely. What we now understand is that the early weeks are actually one of the most valuable windows to retrain your core, while your tissue is still soft and adaptable and your deep core is relearning how to switch on properly. Waiting until 12 weeks to start isn't playing it safe, it's missing the window where the right kind of work does the most good.

The leaking you've been quietly managing. The way you've stopped mentioning it because it feels like "just what happens now." That's not something the research says you have to accept as your new normal. Please book in for a Pelvic Health assessment, it can get better with the right support and guidance.

And the rush to get "your old body back"? You're not behind. Recovery was never supposed to be a race, and your week 6 was never a fair comparison to someone else's highlight reel online.

It's our job at MTM to stay on top of what the evidence actually says, so we can give you real guidance, not guesswork and we take that jib very seriously ๐Ÿค

Nobody warned you about this part of motherhood.

The exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix. The weight that shifts for no reason. The anxiety, the brain fog, the feeling that your body is doing something without asking you first.

This is perimenopause - and it can start in your late 30s.
Swipe to understand what's actually happening inside your body, and what you can do about it. ๐Ÿ‘‰
Peri Power is MTM's small group personal training program designed specifically for peri menopausal women. Expert coaching, small group, real community.
Next round starts 2 June - limited spots available.

DM us 'PERI' or visit ๐Ÿ’šhttps://www.movingthroughmotherhood.com/peri-power to find out more.

Can we talk about something that doesn't get talked about enough? ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Perimenopause.

So many women come to us feeling like something is justโ€ฆ off. They're tired in a way sleep doesn't fix. Their body feels different. Their motivation has disappeared. And nobody told them this could start happening in their late 30s.

You're not imagining it. And you're not alone.

We built Peri Power for exactly this moment -a small group training program for peri menopausal women who want to feel strong, supported and understood.

Not a generic gym class.
Not a program designed for 25 year olds.
A program designed for where YOUR body is right now. ๐Ÿ’š

We'd love to chat if this sounds like you. Slide into our DMs or tap the link in bio to register for our next block starting soon.
