πŸ‘ Volunteer Appreciation Post πŸ‘

Some people turn up. Others go above and beyond.

Today, TJ showed exactly what community football is all about.

From picking up BBQ supplies and canteen stock before the day even started, to helping set up the canteen with KK, serving throughout the day, supervising matches on both Field 2 and Field 1, and then spending 90 minutes supporting an injured Polonia player after a serious reserve grade injury β€” TJ was there every step of the way.

And when most people had already headed home, TJ was still hard at work cleaning the canteen, tidying the grounds, putting the bins out, locking the gates, and being the last person to leave.

These are the moments that often go unseen, but they are the reason clubs like ours continue to thrive.

TJ, thank you for your dedication, selflessness, and commitment to our football community. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful to have you as part of the Workers FC family. πŸ–€πŸ€βš½

⚽️ U10 Girls Match Report ⚽️

A fantastic team effort from our U10 Girls today, with every player putting in a strong performance and showing great determination from start to finish. πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ

The girls worked hard for each other, played with plenty of energy, and their commitment on the field was rewarded with a positive result. There are still a few areas we’ll continue to work on at training, but overall the girls got the job done and should be very proud of their efforts.

🌟 Player of the Week: Lara 🌟

A well-deserved recognition for Lara, who was outstanding in defence today. She was rock solid at the back, read the game well, and always seemed to be in the right position when her team needed her most. Her determination, positioning, and defensive work helped set the foundation for the team’s success. Fantastic effort, Lara! πŸ‘βš½

Well done girls, keep up the great work and let’s continue building each week! πŸ–€πŸ€πŸ’—

🌧️⚽ BREAKING NEWS ⚽🌧️

After an emergency meeting between Blacktown Council, Mother Nature, and Noah, it has been confirmed that our fields have officially turned into rice paddies. πŸš£β€β™‚οΈπŸŸ

As a result, all Workers FC fields are CLOSED for Friday and Saturday.

A special team of experts armed with gumboots, umbrellas, and optimism will inspect the grounds on Saturday afternoon to see if Sunday football is possible. πŸ€žπŸ˜‚

⚠️ Keep an eye on DRIBL for updates, as some games may be moved to synthetic fields (the only places in Blacktown not currently underwater).

MiniRoos, enjoy the unexpected long weekend. Competition teams, keep those boots clean… you might need them next weekend instead!

Stay dry, stay safe, and remember β€” if you can kayak to training, the field is probably closed. 🌊🀣

⚽️ Under 6 Div 4s ⚽️

Had a good game last Saturday against a strong team. We didn’t come away with the win, but the kids put in a massive effort and played with great energy from start to finish. Back to training this week to work on a few things and keep improving. πŸ’ͺ

πŸ† Player of the Week: Shlokh Shetty
Outstanding all-round performance. Shlokh was everywhere on the field in both defence and attack, and topped it off by scoring our only goal of the game. Great effort! πŸ‘βš½οΈ

Every player continues to improve each week and that’s what makes us proud as coaches. Keep working hard team! πŸ–€πŸ€
