The birds arrived safely at Windorah mid afternoon yesterday and were fed and on water until dark. This morning they were watered from 5.30am until release time of 6.45am.

Birds were released in clear skies, no ground level wind and were out of sight to the ENE in 5 minutes.

Well it’s time. Forget the Melbourne Cup, the race that stops the nation, tomorrow the Windorah Premier Combine a race from 500 miles contested by flyers from Rockhampton in the south to Townsville in the north and Mackay in the middle.

This year in conjunction with the open race we are conducting our inaugural Breeders Plate race. Yes a Breeders Plate race from 500 miles with a very impressive prize pool of $21430.

We have a total of 209 birds being liberated with 47 of them competing in the Breeders Plate.

Any flyers that are interested in competing in next year’s Breeders Plate and want to test there birds at the distance we will have sale dates and venues posted soon.
