Bit of action form race 2 of the QLD state champs round 5... best race of the weekend for us... 2nd in class and 3rd overall...

After a long wait for gearbox repairs the WTR Porsche is in one piece and heading to the Porsche concourse at Southbank on Sunday
Then a shake down run to be advised to confirm all is good to go..

Round 4 of the state championships on the weekend and for only the second time of owning the car it has let me down...

Qualified in 4th and 1st in class (with a new PB as well) and should have been a good weekend based on our Friday pace. But after qualifying thought there was an issue arising with the gearbox that manifested itself not long in race one.

Did not want to get into a bad position at turn one so had a gentlemen's agreement off the start with the car inside me (running outright class), but got too good of a start that then put me in a bad position for turn two. that gave me a little panel damage from the car that was inside me. but it all went downhill from the end of the second lap with the car then jumping out of gear and selecting 1st gear instead of 2nd on the down shift.

We live to fight another day....

QLD state Champs Rd 4 Race 1 start Left myself in a bad position by having a gentlemen's agreement into the first turn, it then went downhill from there with gearbox issues and the car jumping...

We are on location again at Pelican park raise funds for the Redcliffe Hospital Auxiliary for the second year running..

Not the overall result we wanted on the weekend but still a fun time with Gibb and Vince. car was fantastic on Friday but did not get the gain on new tyres for qualifying. Still enough for P2 and first in class.

Raced well in heat one and came home in second. then for heat two we had a shower just before the race on top of some light rain earlier and got caught out on the wrong tyre.. Then had a spin while running third and from there was playing catchup. with another spin and half lose to follow we finished 13th.

Heat 3 was lucky enough to get up to the front runners again and finish sixth and second fastest car on track again... but with heavens really opened up for the Sunday afternoon race meaning it was cancelled.

So all in all a good weekend for the #27 Wiltec Porsche... many thanks to the club for having us along and all the officials that had to stand in the rain.... looking forward to the next outing....
