Well I just made it to Christchurch in time to catchup with family and now it’s time to fly!
All I have to do is try to remember how to get the bike back in the box... and not forget the passport and I will be set.
It has been the most awesome trip and I’m so grateful I got meet some likeminded people and ride some new trails. (Sorry I didn’t do the last southern bit with the rain and snow!).
Big thanks to Mike for making me the smallest compressible backpack out of any I’ve seen on tour, I’ll keep it in the workshop if you want to come take a look.
Back to the Brisbane warmth and back on the tools soon.

South Island!
So I’m in the Marlborough sounds, cruising downhill, nearly at the next town for an anticipated breakfast after doing an all nighter on the ferry... I see the last car go through the road works section as the road worker steps out and stops me “sorry mate, we are closing the road for an hour, why don’t you head back up to the the lookout and wait”!
So I do, I climb 500m back the way I’ve come, knees not warm yet and a bit stiff and discover this is where I want to be right now!
I feel a little rest coming on!

Just a quick reminder that I’m out of the workshop for a bit...
I’m heading up to the very top of NZ to ride from top to bottom. It’s the Tour Aotearoa ride. (Tour Aotearoa: General Forum)

True!
If your cycling infrastructure isn’t good enough for a grandparent and grandchild to comfortably ride side-by-side, then it isn’t good enough.

Love it when cyclists want to add a little more colour!
Bit of a twin tape challenge but managed it eventually.
