This week, we take on Carina Sat in what looks to be our toughest challenge of the season so far and the boys are geared up for it. 💪

🏏 ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER WIN - Warlocks make it look like business as usual 🟢⚫

A fixture billed with all the build-up of a local derby, but the Warlocks turned the rivalry into a routine day at the office at Marchant Park, Oval 7.

Northern Lions skipper Rukshan won the toss and sent us in to bat on a spongy, uncovered pitch that had plenty to say all day. Openers Dilshan Prathiraje and Sanju Nuwan dug in and saw off a tricky new ball as it misbehaved off the surface but credit to the conditions, the Warlocks were eventually bundled out for a modest 79.

Then came the fightback with the ball. 🔥

Captain Dilshan Prathiraje set the tone early, ripping through the Lions' top order with some unplayable deliveries to grab 4 wickets in a fiery opening spell. From the other end, Shalinda Abeysinghe did what he does best carving through the order for a superb 6-wicket haul. Between them, the two opening bowlers shared all 10 wickets and folded the opposition for just 40, handing the Warlocks a vital 39-run first-innings lead on a wicket where every run was earned.

Back out to bat, the Warlocks now sit at 57/4, powered by a punchy 36-run cameo from Roberto and the watchful presence of Dumindu Abeykoon holding things together.

After the rain played spoilsport for the past few weeks, the Warlocks are finally hopeful of getting some game time under our belt!

We take on Northern Lion Gladiators in a two-day clash, kicking off tomorrow at Marchant Park.

🏏 WHAT AN ENTHRALLING DAY OF CRICKET AT STUMPS! 🏏

Day 1 delivered everything you could ask for and the game is perfectly poised on a knife's edge heading into Day 2.

Stand-in Captain Manuja Gunawardana won the toss and chose to bat on a surface that looked ideal for run-scoring. The first wicket fell early, but Manuja held firm, building two crucial 50+ partnerships first with Sanju Nuwan, then with Arnold Fernando to steady the ship. A late collapse, however, saw the Warlocks bowled out for 195, leaving Manuja stranded on a well-made 84*.

The Macgregor openers came out all guns blazing, putting the Warlocks bowlers under serious pressure from the outset. At one stage they were cruising at 143/1, needing just 53 more for a first innings win with 9 wickets still in hand.

Viren Shah roared back in a spirited second spell, claiming two crucial scalps to swing the momentum. Then the spinners entered the fray, Shalinda Abeysinghe found his ever-reliable line and length to produce a stunning HAT-TRICK, his THIRD hat-trick in just six months! Extraordinary. Manuja carried his rich batting form with the ball as well, chipping in with 2 important wickets including that of Macgregor's top scorer.

After winning the toss, the Warlocks put on a strong bowling performance led by Skipper Dilshan Prathiraje who produced a top class display of seam bowling and claimed 4 wickets. The Firehawks batsmen had no answers to his attack, while Chamupathy Dilhantha Samaratunga finished the job brilliantly with 3 wickets.

In reply, the Skipper and Sanju Nuwan once again set the tone for the Warlocks with a century opening partnership, helping the team end the first day’s play on a high note. 🔥🔥
