The Philippine National Rugby League are proud to announce the players selected for the Philippine national team. The Philippine Tamaraws will take the stage at next week’s historical Rugby League Asian Championships in Manila, they will meet Hong Kong China Thunder in their opening round, a rematch from last year’s Presidents Cup.

The Tamaraw team comprises of 15 of our best local talent who have all progressed through their domestic clubs. Watch out for Storm players like the wrecking ball JR Ramirez, John Denmer Usman, Juliann Feleo, James Osias and talents from other domestic clubs, Henry Larriestan, Jonel Madrona and Joe Mari from the Panthers, Manny Olondriz from Gorillas and Johnsen Lalongisip from the Braves.

They will be complimented by 6 of our determined heritage players from Australia and UK. We welcome back Nik and Isaac to the squad who were valuable players in our game against Hong Kong China last year. We welcome Paul Sheedy back from international retirement, the ex-Melbourne Storm and Tamaraw captain is keen to help guide the team to gold. Tamaraw Captain Dylan Jones is excited to play for his country on home soil for the first time and will help in the forwards with Judd Greenhalgh our UK Tamaraw who is a dual international and recently played for the PRFU Volcanoes.

The team will be managed by Head Coach Andy Brown, Co-Coach Dave Scott, Team Manager Rupert Zappia, Trainers Natalia Webb (Philippine International - Sampaguitas) and Ned Stephenson (Philippine international - Tamaraws and Volcanoes).

Please join us in congratulating the players selected and we wish them well in the tournament. πŸ‡΅πŸ‡
