Thanks to Matt for "conducting" yesterday's session, which focused on more gameplay
It was great to see Carrie-Anne and Zach return to the ice after long absences. Also, a shoutout to Travis, who scored his first goal yesterday during the scrimmage. Well done mate.
As mentioned yesterday, we will be attending the ATSA Independent Living Expo next Wednesday and Thursday (May 20-21), so there will be no session next week. Also, the following Wednesday, May 27, will be game day for our experienced players.

We are proud to announce we will be at the ATSA Independent Living Expo in Brisbane from 20 to 21 May. Come and see us in the Sports Zone at booth SZ6! We will also have presentation time slots with times to be announced.
We hope to see you there and perhaps some time soon we will get you on the ice at one of our regular sessions to give our amazing action packed sport a try! ๐๐ฅ

Thanks to Matt for running yesterday's session, where we warmed up with a few rounds of Red Rover, before splitting into teams had having a full session scrimmage, where the focus was on puck retention and passing, rather than scoring goals.
Thank you to those of you that have already put your hands up to volunteer at the ATSA Independent Living Expo on May 20-21 (reminder that there is NO hockey on the 20th due to our attendance at the expo), come along to the Convention Centre to check it out if you can.

Another solid turnout yesterday, with Tony back between the goals, so we were given some shooting practice, along with some passing and one on one drills.
Can everyone please check their emails for a message from Ann regarding volunteering for the upcoming ATSA Independent Living Expo (20/21 May)? Don't forget to promote our appearance at the expo on your socials.
As usual, keep collecting your containers for our Bincoin for ice time drive.

We were back for term 2 yesterday, with an enthusiastic bunch hitting the ice, starting with a competitive game of red rover, followed by a few basic drills to get us back into things after Easter, ending with a 3x3x3 scrimmage.
Thanks to Tony for leading us in Ben's absence.
Dates for the rest of the term are as follows:
April 29
May 6, 13, 27 (Game Day)
June 3, 10, 17, 24 (Game Day)
A reminder that there is no session on May 20th due to our attendance at the ATSA Independent Living Expo, which will be held on the 20th and 21st. Ann will be calling for volunteers next week to help on both days.
On June 17th, we will be having a visit from the team from AbiliTV, a community TV/online program aimed at people with disabilities, to showcase our sport.

Apologies for the delay in this post, I had gremlins in the computer
Term 1 ended on Wednesday with our first game of the year, won by the Blue team 5-2.
Chris A and Matt scored two each and Greg scored one for the Blue team, while Chris R and Kyle were the goal scorers for the Orange team.
Shoutouts go to Tony and Carrie-Anne in goal for making incredible saves during the game.
Thank you to our wonderful spectators who cheered the players on, to Matt for providing a cake for after the match and Renee for her photography and video skills.
We now have two weeks off for Easter, returning for Term 2 on April 22nd. Donโt forget to keep collecting your cans and bottles.
Also coming up during Term 2 is the ATSA Expo, on May 20-21, so there will be NO hockey on May 20. We will be looking for volunteers for both days.
Lastly, we wish to acknowledge Julian, one of our long term players, who has announced his retirement from the sport, and we wish him well for the next chapter in his life.
Also, the team from AbiliTV will be visiting next term (date TBC), they saw us on the Today show in February and are keen to feature us as โa shining example of inclusion, community passion and innovation.
