Season 25/26 — done and dusted!
We’ve had our highs and lows, but that’s racing. We’ll be back next season bigger and better, with some changes to the car and a fresh new design already in the works.
The new car build has been pushed back, but with two more builds now underway, it’s exciting times ahead. We’re looking forward to seeing more McEwen-built cars out on track next season.
A massive thank you to everyone who helped out and put in the work this season — it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Tankzilla is locked and loaded for next season 💪
With the garage finally cleared out, it’s full steam ahead to get this build finished and ready to roll. The goal is simple — have it completed before the season kicks off.
Once that’s done, focus shifts to Tyson’s car, while continuing to fine-tune Tankzilla so it’s dialled in and ready to hit the track hard.
Big things on the horizon 👊
Very much appreciate all the help and support this season.

Well it’s been a while, so here’s a quick recap 👇
The tanker hit the track on the 21st of March at Gatton Speedway. The plan was simple — roll out, run some clean laps, and get comfortable in the new car.
The car felt great in the heats and I was having an absolute ball!
Heading out for the feature, I noticed temps creeping up to 98°C 😳. Thought I’d do a few laps to see if some airflow would bring it down, so I let the field go at the start. There was a bit of chaos into Turn 2 with Tyson caught up in it — I got tangled in as well and ended up trying to climb over the #27 of Jacob Smith. By that stage the temp had climbed to 115°C, so I pulled off to save the motor.
Fast forward to last night, April 18th at Lockyer Valley Speedway.
Heat 1: Rolled out, went for top gear… and it wasn’t there 🤷♂️. Played with the shifter and eventually found it. Got the race underway and worked our way up into 2nd after giving Fabs a bit of a push early on — that’s where we stayed until the finish.
Back in the pits, the gearbox locked itself in 1st, so we made the call to pack it up for the night. Disappointing, because the car felt bloody good!
At this stage we won’t be contesting the QLD Title — focus is now on prepping for next season.
Huge thanks to everyone who help make it happen:

River 94.9 Lockyer Valley Speedway – 18/04/26
We went into the night with a fresh gearbox after ongoing issues last meeting. Turned out 2nd and 3rd synchros were snapped, so a massive thanks to Ray from RMC Racing for getting that sorted for us 👌
Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on our side. What we thought was a fueling issue all night ended up being a blown rocker cover gasket, leaking oil onto the spark plugs and causing dramas.
Heat 1 & 2: DNF – car just wasn’t running right.
After that, Dad, Gazza and Matty got stuck into it—pulled the top end apart, cleaned the plugs, adjusted the fuel reg, and got it running much better.
Heat 3: Started P3. Didn’t get the jump I wanted, but the car felt 100x better and we were putting down some quick laps. Then coming out of Turn 2, the panhard rod snapped and sent me into the wall—DNF.
Feature: Started P2, finished P5. Car started playing up again (not as bad), so I just cruised around. Gave the wall a tap and somehow it came good—ended up flying, putting in some solid laps and keeping pace with Fabz.
Big thanks to everyone who came out to help—Ruby, Matty Cox, and Gazza “Mr Retired” 🙌
Huge appreciation to our sponsors , supporters and fans.

The Man The Myth The Legend!
The man behind our race engines!
Big things come in small packages… and then there’s Paul 👀
Don’t let the height fool you — what he lacks in vertical reach he more than makes up for in knowledge. With experience in automotive engineering and reconditioning dating all the way back to 1992, and running his own business since 1999, it’s safe to say he’s seen (and fixed) just about everything.
Paul’s also been a proud Maryborough local for the past 16 years, so there’s a good chance he already knows your car better than you do.
He’s a good boss man — just don’t put anything on the top shelf and expect him to grab it.
Both boys having some fun last Saturday night!
