The Queensland School Sport Rugby Union made the error of awarding the U15 Country Cup to Peninsula as opposed to the higher placed Darling Downs team during Sunday’s closing ceremony.
Darling Downs finished the U15 State Championships in 4th place and were the highest ranked of the 5 regions who are eligible for the Country Cup.
We apologise to Peninsula for the confusion and to the families, officials and players from Darling Downs who missed the opportunity to celebrate their great achievement during the closing ceremony.
Congratulations to the Darling Downs side for a successful State Championships and for taking out the U15’s Country Cup!!
