Today is equal pay day. It signifies the additional time from the end of the previous financial year that women must work to earn the same as men.
If you want to know if your CEO is a pay equity ambassador check out this link on the Workplace Gender Equality Agency website https://www.wgea.gov.au/addressing-pay-equity/pay-equity-leadership-0
If they're not on there, head over to DCC Jobs, they pre-screen employers on paid parental leave, pay equity, flexible working and much more.
So while there is still a need for equal pay day, there's now a very positive movement in the right direction.

A great solution to the superannuation problem.
Women retire on average with 40% less super than men. So it's fantastic to see part-time employees being paid full super.
We can't wait for the system to be fixed, that will be too late for many of us, we need initiatives like this to address the problems we're facing now. Well done VIVA Energy

One of the reasons we're running the Flex, Finance and Your Future Event is for the very reason that women retire with substantially less superannuation than men. We can't predict the future so we need to take control of our own.
Super was designed in the '80s and '90s for a different model of work and a different model of social structure.
It was designed around the man working 40-plus hours a week, and was assumed that women would have a man at home that would do the earning.
Clearly not the structure we find ourselves living in now.
