A huge day of racing today with the cross country and events

Leah took the win in her first ever QG final, showing patience when needed and killer instincts kicking in when it came to the pointy end.

Ava ran home strong for 8th in her final QG race in the 17yrs 💪🏻

Fantastic racing and team spirit from all the Schools involved.

Our Noosa Team had a fun morning & we had several Age group podiums & PB’s 🙌

Rnd 2️⃣ Cross Country ✅

A great afternoon out at Sherwood for the second round in the cross country series.

Leah had a solid run and took the win in the girls u14 age group, Henry was 2nd in the men’s 6k race and Coach managed to win her age despite getting pipped right on the line by Brenno 😄
Great work also by Kristina, who ran her 2nd ever 6k race, gritting out that extra lap isn’t easy!

Next Saturday 9th May is the Qld short course championships at Limestone Park.
It’s also Coach’s Birthday so there may be some extra incentive for you to run 🧁

🔥 Massive weekend for the Watts Athletics Crew 🔥





At the Ballarat Marathon, 14 athletes took on Sturt St and delivered in a big way 4 PBs, 4 age group podiums, and a stack of strong performances building nicely towards the Gold Coast Marathon.

Over at the London Marathon, 6 of our crew soaked up the full experience, from Big Ben to Tower Bridge and Buckingham Palace. It might not have been a perfect day conditions wise, but the vibe was high and everyone came away with memories that’ll last. Added bonus, being part of history and the illustrious sub 2 hours by not one but two athletes. Let’s not forget also the new women’s world record going down as well 🌟

Closer to home at the Gold Coast Running Festival Half, Peter had one goal, an age group win!! And he delivered. Emma used the race as a session and still walked away with a Strava PB.

Huge congrats to everyone for the effort, the work that goes in each and every week and Marathoners, now you can enjoy the recovery, the sleep-ins, and a well-earned reset.

A reminder that entries for this weekends cross country at Sherwood Arboretum close tomorrow at 9am!

Mt Buffalo Marathon 42.2k
1600m+ Ascent ⬆️ , 2650m decent ⬇️ ⛰️

A massive congratulations to Jade who went and conquered the Buffalo Stampede last Sunday. Jade ran the picturesque yet brutally gruelling marathon, which included over 1600 meters of elevation, in an impressive time of 5hrs 33 mins & placed 11th in her age group. Fantastic work Jade 🤩🙌

We can’t wait to hear about your adventures in detail when you return to flatter ground!
