🌊🥋BEACH TRAINING THIS SUNDAY! 🥋🌊
One of my absolute favourite special sessions of the year is back…and you are all invited!
Training on the beach (and in the water!) is an unforgettable experience - soft sand under your feet, waves moving around you, and the energy of the ocean pushing you to level up your karate in a whole new way. It’s always FUN, challenging, and something you will talk about all year long!
This sessions is open to ALL ages and ranks, and it’s completely FREE - we would love to see a huge turnout to support our Gold Coast dojo 👊
🗓️ Sunday Feb 22
⏰ 7:00-8:30am (arrive 10 minutes early)
📍Surf beach in front of Phillip Park, Main Beach (opposite SeaWorld entry)
💲Free
🎒 What to bring:
- Gi
- Towel
- Hat and sunscreen
- Water
- Change of clothes (no one wants to drive home in a wet and sandy gi! 😅)
You’re also welcome to bring friends along to join the session - they might just fall in love with karate too!
Please let Sensei Anthony know if you are coming so we can plan for the session 🙌
Let’s make this the biggest and most fun beach training

Hard work paying off! 🥋⭐️
Congratulations to these Little Champions who earned their next grading stripes in Thursdays class 👏
Gradings are about more than technique - they build confidence, resilience, and pride in effort. These students showed fantastic focus and determination and should be very proud of their progress.

A huge night for BrisKarate and our Soke Cup Squad 🔥🥋
Last week we officially kicked off our 2026 Soke Cup preparation with our first Soke Cup Squad training of the year — and it was a very special one.
We were honoured to welcome Sensei Martin Phillips (Godan, Renshi) and Sensei Sandra Phillips (Godan, Renshi) to the Brisbane dojo for the very first time. As head instructors of Sunshine Coast Karate and two of the highest-ranked teachers in Australia, their visit was a rare and invaluable opportunity for our students.
Adding to the significance of the night, Sensei Sandra is the Head Coach of the Australian Team for the Soke Cup, making this training especially meaningful as we begin the final countdown to August.
The evening included a special class open to all BrisKarate students, followed by a dedicated Soke Cup preparation session focusing on both technical refinement and the mental side of competition — confidence, calmness, and preparation.
We’re incredibly proud of our students and grateful to the Phillips family for their guidance and generosity.
