The Perfect Pitch is about assisting Curators with sharing the knowledge and ideas on what the Perfect Pitch is. Advice and knowledge is not limited to the turf pitch, with netting, outfield, hardwicket facilities part and parcel of minor to major cricket facilities.

Alan Pettigrew Oval for 2nd XI.

Ian Healy Oval for 5th grade, being rested from 1st and 2nd XI cricket after a 100mm was taken off, levelled and turfed with Tahoma31 in late April before a 10 week turn around for Byron Toot Cup, followed by Century Champions League and then Queensland Cricket T20 Max cricket.

Cricket season well and truly on the way at Northern Suburbs. Max Kidman rolling out his first set of praccies, renovating the other half of the table. All three fields aerated plus being able to give Pettigrew a clean up and fert along with Healy square a good drink post the last T20 Max fixture last night. Will tackle some of those lows in the Healy square over the next few weeks!

Jhiah Baxter recently played on this ground against Werrington CC in Peterborough, Northamptonshire. Tough summer for the Northern Hemisphere curators. Investment in water infrastructure needed across the country. Still amazes me in ground water retention for ground drainage run off aren't a required specification in new oval builds, not just in the UK but across the globe.

🌱 GROUNDSMAN WANTED – MUDDIES CRICKET CLUB 🏏

Muddies Cricket Club is looking for a reliable groundsman to help prepare and maintain our cricket grounds throughout the upcoming season.

The role may include:

• Preparing and maintaining turf wickets
• Mowing and general ground maintenance
• Setting up grounds before matches
• Working with the club to ensure our facilities are ready each week

Previous experience with cricket wickets or turf maintenance would be highly regarded, but we’re also happy to hear from anyone reliable and willing to learn.

This is a paid position, with hours and responsibilities to be discussed.
