Matt knows what week it is 🎉 time to head to Morgan Park Raceway
Round 3 this weekend.
After a really solid start to the year, including a class podium at the Bathurst 6 Hour and a round win in Round 2, we’re heading into this one feeling confident and focused.
The work is done, now it’s about staying sharp, forcing a few mistakes, maximising opportunities, and making the most of the weekend.
A huge thanks again to Penrite Oil for their continued support of our racing program. I'm proud to continue representing a brand with such a strong history in Australia.
Looking forward to getting back behind the wheel.

Each of the Sports Car and Single Seater Racing Car categories have had a big injection of technology and evolution in nearly four decades.
Fortunately Sports & Racing hasn't had the massive expansion of competing categories Touring Car racing deals with.
Treaded tyre, no aero... Formula Vee for maximum road car based parts, Formula Ford 1600 for maximum fabrication from non-exotic materials.
Production-based sports car... ProdSports.
Any wings and slicks open wheel single seater or full body two seater... Sports & Racing Cars.
Together we're your one stop shop for 'not a touring car' circuit racing.
🤯 three plus decades of change in Queensland has not left state circuit racing out.
Late 80's ~ Events made up the track schedules and often featured different combinations of categories in each event and a mix of status; scratch race, championship race or part of a series.
A notable race group were Street Sedans, with a few local APCC Production Cars and some historic Appendix J cars.
Since 2000 ~ Reflecting Supercars and other high end categories, local State Championship racers more and more wanted each race of a weekend to count towards championships, with scratch races having been virtually absent for a decade or more now.
Gone are the days of Division 1 and Division 2 Sports Sedans based on lap times, multiple categories now provide for the competitors who in the 80's would have had one clear choice.

Step back in time, these Formula Vees are from the 1980's and the QRDA's archive of our own and donated photos.

Want an easy way into circuit racing? Formula Vee are looking for you. Mass-produced VW Beetle mechanicals in a light, strong and easy to repair spaceframe chassis, with limited fibreglass and aluminium panels for covering.
Easy to store, easy to tow, easy to work on, with a lot of friendly support from fellow competitors at the track. All-weather control tyre means no carrying wets and drys.
What's seen here are 1200cc cars from the 80's which you can still race today. There's now the 1600cc engine option as well, and with that comes the option to cut the shock towers off the factory front suspension frame and convert to slippery through the air inboard dampers with pushrod actuation like Formula Ford and other contemporary open wheelers.
While we'd love to have some Formula Vee members in our club, first contact with the most technical knowledge would be Formula Vee Queensland
We'll also be giving the category a little extra support through our QRDA Sports & Racing page.
Like the QRDA with our Sports Sedans and our open wheel wings and slicks Racing Cars, the Formula Vee Queensland club are a core category for Motorsport Australia Queensland Circuit Racing State Championship.
Minimum driver age for Formula Vee is the same as Series X3 Excels, being 14 years old.

Flashback, with Mattea Motorsport in Prototype Sports Cars racing. This car is a Sports 1300, the most radical of evolutions from the Lotus Super 7 style of car.
Long wheelbase, lower, more power, aero, slick tyres and more, these cars take the Clubman sports car layout and extract the most from it.
Richard's car is an 'Infiniti', a one-of-one build for which he is only the second owner. The most well known production manufacturer for competition chassis of the type is Mallock. It's a class where vehicle construction is open to all manufacturers.
The class is taken care of by QLD Sportscar Championship

All the Sports Cars and the Racing Cars categories will be back at Warwick soon, with State Championship racing returning for Round 3 at the end of May as part of Morgan Park Raceway’s Grand Slam series of events.
Formula Vee, Formula Ford 1600, combined Prototype Sports Cars and open wheel Racing Cars, and ProdSports Production Sports Cars, they'll all be there.
