Term 4 is underway, and we're loving the joy and energy Robbie McMillan is bringing to Broadway classes at BTQ!

With an international career spanning musical theatre and ballet, including Cats, Anything Goes and Guys and Dolls, Robbie brings a wealth of experience for the students to learn from.

A special night at Queensland Ballet

Last night, BTQ students attended the dress rehearsal of Queensland Ballet’s, Bespoke, where they had the opportunity to see What Remains, choreographed by Director of Training, Victor Zarallo

Exploring belonging, identity, resilience and the balance between connection and staying true to oneself, What Remains, is brought to life through powerful choreography, music, costume and lighting.

It was incredibly special for students to see Victor’s work on the professional stage and experience the artistry and collaboration behind the creation of a new work.

We are so proud to have Victor leading and inspiring the next generation of dancers at Ballet Theatre Queensland.

Congratulations to Victor and the entire creative and performing team. Chookas to everyone for a wonderful season ahead!

Great training shouldn’t only be a place to succeed. It should be a safe place to get things wrong.

Clare and Victor know from their own professional journeys that becoming an artist means making mistakes, learning from them and finding the confidence to try again.

For young dancers, having educators and peers they trust creates the space to do exactly that, to take risks, stumble, recover and grow before stepping into the professional world.

Because being prepared for the industry isn’t about never failing. It’s about knowing how to find your way forward when you do.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Sara Yamamoto from Sendai, Japan, who joined Full-Time Training on secondment.

It was so special to have Sara share her artistry with us, including a performance at Solos Evening to celebrate her final week at BTQ.

It is wonderful to bring dancers together from different places, perspectives and experiences.

Alongside BTQ’s comprehensive ballet training, students from Intermediate Foundation onwards (11+ years) can can also take part in RAD Exam Classes.

Designed to complement the BTQ Ballet Syllabus, RAD provides an additional framework for dancers to consolidate their classical technique, musicality and artistry while working towards internationally recognised qualifications.
